Anyone getting through for a hotel yet??? I FINALLY got through on the phone after 50 minutes and they told me they would have to take my information down and get back to me because their computers were overwhelmed! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... but to make matters worse, I realized after she took down my info that she forgot to get my phone number!!!! So I don't think they're going to be calling me back

Looks like I gotta start all over again!!!

That is insane! My best friend is trying to go and he's having the same issues. On top of that, the group he's trying to get together won't commit because its turning into too much of a 'hassle' for them.

I lucked out and have a free place to stay through another friend.

Got through again on the phone but they have no way to retrieve my original info cause they were writing it down so I had to fill out the info again and give them my phone number this time!

Been trying online for 1 hr and 15 minutes .. been in the "virtual waiting room" ... still no dice.

This day and the day Cubs tickets go on sale are always the worst days of my life

*GOT THRU ONLINE* .... Nothing available downtown! 1 hr 40 min later even though I was online within seconds of 9 am pacific. I've never NOT gotten a hotel downtown. If something doesn't happen, I will probably just drive down for the day and drive home. Not going to bother wasting money on a hotel if I can't be downtown. Very frustrating

and this whole things about you are in a "virtual waiting line based on the order you entered the room is BS" .... I was on my desktop for 1 hr 20 min before I realized I could have my laptop "waiting" as well. My laptop connected 7 minutes after my desktop, even though the desktop had been "waiting" for 1 hr 33 minutes longer! BS

ALL IS WELL !

Comic-con didn't get my phone number as mentioned before, but despite getting 2 emails saying my requests have been denied due to unavailability, I have now received a 3rd email saying my very first phone call with them resulted in getting a room! I just had to call them back and give them a credit card to reserve, which I did. Woooooooooooooooo. Completely stressful, but at least I got a room and I got my first choice. Westin Gaslamp.

When I went in 2006, we stayed in San Ysidro, which is 15 or so miles south of the Convention Centre and about a mile and a half north of Tijuana. Stayed in the Best Western.

Nicer than it sounds. The drive was manageable and my half for the hotel room was $186 for 5 nights.

Last year I wasn't planning on rooming with Zeph either and booked the room with my wife in mind at first as we got closer to the show it wasn't going to happen having her come with me and Zeph stepped in to room with me.

If the same thing transpires I'm sure I can get some interested roomies

ONLY thursday and Sunday are remaining at this point and both are under 50% sold to this point.

Well I should have read this thread earlier... I can TOTALLY go, even have a freebie plane ticket to get there with, but it looks like no passes and no places to stay ?

Thursday and Sunday are open, and since you are retired military you could stay at MCRD San Diego, NAS North Island, NB San Diego, etc.

just bought my ticket for thursday. Not the day I wanted to go, but it was the only day open that I will be there. Anybody else going on Thursday?
