Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $75 for the true color cover of Timewalker #3. I personally like this "other" and "unknown" version significantly less because it seems more drab and "greyed out" than the actual cover. So I wouldn't pay more than $35 for it without knowing significantly more information about it.

I've basically already decided I'm not going to complete the transaction. I feel I have that right because it was presented as being original art from the book. I wished I hadn't pounced on it so quick, but I thought it was a pretty good price for a color cover, especially since I think it's a decent cover.

Here's the original auction, in case anyone wants to see it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0296200258

I mean, they don't even mention it's color art, they describe it as "Cover art for issue #3 of the Valiant Comics-published Timewalker." I knew enough to know it was some kind of color art, but not enough to realize there were too many differences in color.

So, based on this statement about the seller:
Every piece has been appraised and verified to be authentic.
Would it be j@ck@ssery of the highest degree to ask what kind of "appraisal and verification" process they used for this piece?

So the seller finally got around to sending me an invoice, although they never answered my question. I sent them back a message saying that I e-mailed them a couple weeks ago about this and have decided I'm not going to purchase it, so they could go ahead and file with eBay to get their fees back. We then did the "mutually agree not to complete the transaction" deal. It's been re-listed if someone wants it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0303787556

They changed the description slightly, although it still appears not to be 100% accurate.
