Weird... I was about to make the opposite statement about 9.8s.Shakespeare wrote:In 9.8? Harbinger Pink, because almost all copies have a printers indentation on the back, but not 9.8s
In any other grade? Unity Red.
Unity 0 Red - 4 in 9.8 out of 31 copies graded (13%)
Harbinger 0 Pink - 25 in 9.8 out of 80 copies graded (31%)

Well sure, you can prove anything with facts!Weird... I was about to make the opposite statement about 9.8s.
Unity 0 Red - 4 in 9.8 out of 31 copies graded (13%)
Harbinger 0 Pink - 25 in 9.8 out of 80 copies graded (31%)

Now opinionated uncheckable rants that can't be verified...that's when you come to me.

You're probably watching, but here's your chance to know what eBay users think of Harbinger 0 in 9.8:

...and at one point (Nov 2002), a 9.8 went for $67.95.

After the past few weeks of auctions, maybe this is the week to break the record! I guess we'll see.greg wrote: Ebay users have never paid more than $350 before.

Except for the Comiclink sales by our own "CKB",DawgPhan wrote:Greg isnt there an XO 0 10.0 that you have? I didnt see that issue listed on the cgc sales list..or am I making up the second 10.0 valiant?
all of the sales listed are from Ebay.
I bought X-O #0 10.0 from Reynold Jay.
For the record, he wanted $99.95... so I paid him.

Ahh that explains it...so for right around $330 or so including shipping and everything, you have all of the 10.0 valiants...I would say that is a collection in and of itself...of course I dare say that the next ones will not come so cheap.greg wrote:Except for the Comiclink sales by our own "CKB",DawgPhan wrote:Greg isnt there an XO 0 10.0 that you have? That's the truth.DawgPhan wrote:Ahh that explains it...so for right around $330 or so including shipping and everything, you have all of the 10.0 valiants...I would say that is a collection in and of itself...of course I dare say that the next ones will not come so cheap.
I haven't bid enough to win any of Bob Layton's trinkets.
Since we're putting things "on the record",
my 'proxy bid' for the Rai 0 was $333.33...
but luckily the second highest bidder only went to about $202.
Honestly, there's nothing much that's super-special about the books
that a 9.8 doesn't have... it was just something else for me to do at the time.
Valiant needs to be revived... and soon...
I've got all the books, and now I'm just out there looking
for the exact same books in pretty plastic holders!

Yep, good point.
Unfortunately, original art is one-of-a-kind, so my obsessive-compulsive
nature could never survive if I actually began collecting art seriously.
If I can't have it all, why bother?

(Actually, this explains why I collect Valiant comics instead of
Superman comics, even though he was my first childhood hero.)

I've noticed what alot of orignal art collectors do, and what I'm thinking about starting is collecting one nice piece from each artist you like on a character you like them on. So you do a bws on solar piece, bws on archer, sears on xo, layton on magnus, hall on shadowman, lapham on harbinger etc.greg wrote:dino wrote:original art is pretty![]()

i'm really torn-but i think i would want the red.
i base this mostly on the cover itself. pretty sweet-all those characters...the $100 price tag doesn't hurt either!
but i don't want to base my decision on $. i have PLENTY of valiant books that are "worth" alot of money that i wouldn't sell...there are also some that i paid an amount that even here on the boards i couldn't get!
(bloodshot #1-$6.50 for example!)
so this is my long way of saying i vote red
