because they couldn't work FOR or with someone else, remember they have no social skills...Daniel Jackson wrote:Makes you wonder why people choose to go into a business like that when it's clear that most have no social skills.
They are ignorant enough to believe that since they "like" or have an interest in something, that that means they will be able to make a living at it...
I see it in the classroom all the time. People are delusional enough to think that they don't have to get along with others because they "own" their own business...pha

Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

Besides offering poor customer service, that just seems kinda cold. That you offered to go through them, decide what you wanted, and take whatever he eventually decided he didn't need, and he still blew you off is pretty lame. Any shopkeeper worth their salt would be thrilled to have a customer so willing to bend over backwards to spend money!

This is so *SQUEE* up, sorry to hear that.
It's been a very interesting experience going through all the comic shops in LA since I haven't been to a comic shop since 95'. Does the nerdy fat guy in the back have to come with every store??? (no offense to any nerds or people who are "horizontally challenged" on this bored). I've seen some *SQUEE* holes and some nice hard wood floor private library types.
I hate when I hear or see this sh*t. I wish there was a little more money at the retail level in comics, I would love to know how much they really make. Actually now that I think about it if there was more money at the retail level then there would be more idiots opening up comic stores.

The nerdy guy at my LCS is not fat. He is also very gregarious and friendly. If I had not heard him talking about his comics, I would not believe he was a comic nerd.
There are other guys there. There is a bald, fat one (receeding hairline, keeps the rest shaved) with a goattee. He always seems more interested in solitaire on the computer than in customers, but I have never seen him there alone. The owner, Ed, is a very friendly guy and always greeting people coming in warmly and not only helpful but solicitous. He is not especially fat. I have been visiting his store since I was 12. I have followed it moving over 4 locations. He never used to remember me, but lately, when he sees me with Valiant backissues, he remembers.

Support that store. You don't want the alternative.Chiclo wrote:The nerdy guy at my LCS is not fat. He is also very gregarious and friendly. If I had not heard him talking about his comics, I would not believe he was a comic nerd.

So what??? every store owner is a bum? The guy asked him not to go thru those boxes, and he persisted. I would have done the same thing. What part of no don't you understand? It may have been pleasant with the first no, but he persisted. woulda *SQUEE* me off too.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:chainnball wrote:bottom line...his books, his store, his rules. Either way, the very fact that it's PP's words, not who is using them, is enough to invalidate that.Unblessed wrote:He's gotta be high. He's using Peter Parker quotes to support his claims. High or drunk. My money's on high.
THAT was a post, ZWH!!!
