Last Chapter of Scud will be released as a 4 pt. mini-series FEB. 2008

Here’s the cover of the first book done by the awesome Ashley Wood, Scud the Disposable Assassin #21 “Return of the Over-Used Muse.” Released by Image

That’s right, for those of you who already have the previous books this is good news! And for those who do not, never fear the Big-*SQUEE* Scud book featuring Scud 1-24 will be out June 2008, right after Scud #24 comes out. This way you don’t have to wait so long for the final book!

It’s kinda cool. For a few short months Scud the Disposable Assassin will be alive again. I never thought I’d see the #21 on the cover of Scud but here it be.

Each cover will be done by a Guest artist-

#22 – Jim Mahfood (March 2008) “Challenge of the Over-Used Muse”

#23 – David Hartman (April 2008) “Retaliation of the Over-Used Muse”

#24 – Doug Tennapel (May 2008) “Death of the Over-Used Muse”

The book breaks up nicely into four installments and will feature pin-ups and cool *SQUEE* inside. Only 15 pages to go and I’m done! I smell a Scud Vlog a comin’!

Hope you guys pre-ordered it. The comicshop owner I get my comics from warned me he didn't order any copies of 21 because he "didn't know anyone wanted it" untill issue 22 was solicited (I think it's been on my pull list for awhile but I do appreciate his honesty). That's just one comicshop but I doubt he's alone since it such an odd book (it hasn't really had a following in more than a decade).

I wasn't sure what to expect. It's been 10 years and Schrab never liked the ending he originally thought up for the series (which actually sounded pretty cool) and indicated he could come up something better now.

Just read 21. I won't give any spoilers. Trust me, if you've ever read this series you won't want any but I will say it's f-ing awesome!!! 100% pure Scud even after all these years!!! Damn shame it's only for four issues but it's still damn sweet to see the solid gold bomb again.

Be interesting to see how he ends it.

You can pick up the softcover for $15 from DCBS this month. It also includes the Drywall Unzipped one shot.

It is also an action figure along with 'SOL' the other assassin in Indie Spotlight comic book heroes toy line.
