---------------------------------------------------

Good morning,

I'm not sure how to approach this purchase, as I paid $182 for a what appeared to be a raw NM/M 9.8 copy of Harbinger #1 that was listed on your site.

However, the book was recieved incomplete as it does not have the coupon inside that is required for the book to be considered NM/M or a legitimate 9.8. The listing DID NOT state that the coupon had been removed, which is an action that SIGNIFICANTLY decreases the market value of this book and further renders it both incomplete and virtually not sellable.

While $182 is an acceptable and appropriate price in the present market for the book as listed; in the incomplete condition I received it in, it might sell for $20-40, if at all.

I am unsure if this was deliberate on the part of the seller, or an honest mistake that was made. However, receiving an incomplete book purchased under the reasonable expectation of recievig a NM/M complete copy as listed and which was paid for is simply not right.

Please let me know what can be done to correct this problem.
DBS - A fine letter: you're giving him rapid notice and an opportunity to make reparations. Here're a few more points to mull: did the offer explicitly state that the coupon was attached? Or did it contain other descriptive language that implied the coupon was attached? Also do you know if the seller sells comics professionally? I'm just going through some issues that might help you demand that the seller deliver to you what you reasonably expected to receive, refund the $, or provide you with a substitute good of equal value that's acceptable to you.

I changed my email to this:
Good morning,

I'm not sure how to approach this purchase, as I paid $182 for what was listed on your website by a seller as a NM/M 9.8 copy of Harbinger #1.

However, the book I recieved was incomplete, as the coupon that was printed and attached inside the book at the time of production and distribution (required for the book to be considered NM/M or a legitimate 9.8) has been torn out and/or removed.

The listing DID NOT state that the copy's coupon had been removed, but rather that it was a NM/M 9.8 copy of Harbinger #1. When comics are purchased, there is no reason for the buyer to automatically assume that parts will be missing or removed. For a seller to neglect to mention parts are missing or removed is questionable at best and potentially deceitful.

This SIGNIFICANTLY decreases the market value of this book and further renders it both incomplete and virtually non-sellable.

While $182 is an acceptable and appropriate price in the present market for the a complete NM/M copy of Harbinger #1; in the incomplete condition I received it in, it likely might sell for $20-40, if at all which is a significant difference in price.

I am unsure if this was deliberate on the part of the seller, or an honest mistake. However, my receiving an incomplete book purchased under the reasonable expectation of recievig a NM/M complete copy as listed and which I paid for is simply not right.

Please let me know what can be done to correct this issue, as I have not received what was paid for.

The website responded with:
Hello Jesse,

You are completely correct and I’m surprised at this, since we’ve never had any issue with this consignor before. Please ship the item back and we will give you a full refund.

Good work, sir! Save that email. A question, though: does your 'full refund' include your reshipment cost? You may want to get that clarified.

Comic Connect.

They are doing a very good job of fixing the issue.
