Do you really think there wouldn't be...?Xtianhardy wrote: Unrelated to Harada vs. Pete: Joshua Dysart mentioned that the Bleeding Monk in Harbinger #1 was going to be integral to the new Valiant Universe. Has there been any speculation on these boards that the Bleeding Monk might be linked to new interpretatons of Rai, Bloodshot or the Blood of Heroes?

Not enough info for anything concrete...but I think some of us theorized he could be from the pre-cataclysm world (as seen in Archer & Armstrong) and sealed himself up until Harbingers like himself returned to prevent a new cataclysm. Or perhaps he is Rai...either from the same pre-cataclysm, or just from the past, or having traveled back in time from the future.

I'm kinda hoping there won't be a connection to RAI or Bloodshot... it almost seems too obvious to do that. When I look at the two panels with the bleeding monk, it also looks more like an open seeping chest wound that is only vaguely like the RAI/Bloodshot circle. Not much to go on yet though, really. I do look forward to seeing what happens with this character, if he is integral to a major story arc of any kind it'll be good.BugsySig wrote:Do you really think there wouldn't be...?Xtianhardy wrote: Unrelated to Harada vs. Pete: Joshua Dysart mentioned that the Bleeding Monk in Harbinger #1 was going to be integral to the new Valiant Universe. I'll have to go take a second look at the issue to see where exactly he is bleeding from. I can't remember if he's bleeding from the chest, or if that's just me remembering things to fit my half-baked theory. I do remember there being A LOT of blood, though.

Agreed. I'm looking forward to whatever they decide to do with the character. I'm just hungry for more!grendeljd wrote:I'm kinda hoping there won't be a connection to RAI or Bloodshot... it almost seems too obvious to do that. Re: HARBINGER #1 DISCUSSION THREAD! FULL SPOILERS!
This book was every bit as awesome as a lot of the major review sites are making it out to be, it read like a dream and I absolutely LOVED the interior art despite some critics out there talking it down. I really got into Peter's character and his friendship with Joe that was apparently betrayed at the end of the issue, but I also liked his conning of Kris to be with him after apparently not seeing her for several years. I also really got into the beginning of the issue where the black girl was infiltrating that place, I bet she becomes a big part of the story later on.
Man, I seriously can't wait for issue #2......well, as of this writing it's not to far off!

Quick question: Do we know the name of the white haired girl from the beginning of the first issue? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

That "hair" is a hat. And that "girl" is Harada.

But don't worry. When these pages first came out, a lot of people here thought it was a girl.

Boy.....Harada did look like a girl, and that hood or hat did look like a poofy white afro. After re-reading the issue this morning I do see now that it was Harada, but yeah.....he looks like a girl.

Even one of the online reviews referred to him as a girl in those pages even though they acknowledged him as a man as an adult. They must have been thinking transgender character.Blood of Heroes wrote:But don't worry. When these pages first came out, a lot of people here thought it was a girl.
