I think the highest Gold logo book went for $610 and it was a raw copy of (VEI) X-O Manowar #1 Gold

These were the ones VEI listed back in 2012 for a Charity Auction.

1st auction $306.76
2nd auction $260.00
3rd auction $610.00

VF Board Member "Monkey" was the winner of that 3rd auction.

So the $610 bid was a combination of several things.

A) wanting to pick what I figured the third of three of these up
B) Knowing the money would go to charity
C) going to bed after a show way too late and waking up about five minutes before the auction ended
D) I recorded the voice for the QR variant cover and I figured this might be a decent (if idiotic) way to contact Valiant and say "right on"
E) I'm kinda like Rain Man in that any large-ish amount of money seems to equate in my head to "about a hundred dollars".
F) I'm a bit odd
G) Frogs

I foolishly thought it might not get much attention and I could snatch it near the list price.

I was definitely shocked by the final bid, I wouldn't have hung in past $300, but I'm sure the winner will be happy as there don't seem to be too many of the gold Ninjak out there. I never heard how this was actually distributed, it just kind of showed up. Does anyone know?

They're usually given out through conventions and contests, not normal distribution.

Valiant has a Gold program (like they did in the 90's) and they are still given to fans also

Seems like some were listed in Previews for retailer incentive ordering. Not sure if all have been.

XO, Harbinger and if I am not mistaken A&A were. Bloodshot and the rest going forward were not. I could be wrong but I think that is correct.
