Anyone Need a FCBD Copy

I have five LCS's within 10 minutes of me and five more that are 15 minutes away. So I got up early and started hitting the shops. Course, I could have grabbed all the VEI's, but didn't.

I have about three extra copies if anyone needs one. Cost of backer-board, sleeve, $1.19 USPS envelope, and shipping. Will open it up to non-US fans.

I wasn't able to get one and I got to my LCS within 15 minutes of opening, so I would really love to get a copy.

Apparently people were lining up at 8 am and the shop opened at 11. I got there at 11:15. I haven't done FCBD in a while but it's apparently turned into the Black Friday of comics. By the looks of the racks, many books were long gone when I got there (I managed to at least snag the last TMNT). Thank goodness the folks on this board are very generous!

I just wished I'd grabbed more Valiant. Who knew it was this hard to get them. Looking back, I would have grabbed twice as many and not grabbed titles like Savage Dragon, Convergence, or Secret Wars, which I don't even read.

The first place I went to I got there at 8:55 AM and they opened at 9. There were 15 people in line and thought to myself, "WOW, I didn't expect this much turn-out."

And they literally had 30 Valiants sitting there. I grabbed three.

It was interesting in that there are four other shops within 10 minutes of that place and I saw the SAME people going to shop after shop after shop.

I covered 5 my shops here in Phoenix for my podcast. One opened at midnight, had over 140 people in line at 11:45 pm, they ran out of Secret Wars and Fight Club first, still had Valiant when the line disappeared about 1:45am. Second place I covered still had every book available an hour in, but I know they ordered HEAVY because it was a whole street fair thing. I figure they gave out books to 750ish people. Third store I went to had most of the books still around 12:30. Not a lot of traffic at that store, but it's new and half the store is toys, so not very comic-centric. The next store I went too had a mini-con going on called ACME (Arizona Comics Mini Expo) quite a few artist there and lots of traffic. They were out of about half the titles, mostly the lesser known and kid stuff. All the major companies were still there at 2ish, Secret Wars, Divergence, Fight Club, Valiant. The last store I got too about 3 and things were winding down, told me it was SLAMMED earlier but things and slowly been winding down since 1. Got a lot of cool interviews. Talked to A LOT of people, some new, some veteran comic readers. I will say that VEI doesn't seem to have a huge presence/following here in AZ. Going to need to put some work in.

Y'know having gone to five shops I could have ended up with tons of books. However, I felt it was more important to leave them for others that are just discovering comics, in the hopes of turning them into regular comic readers. I picked up maybe 5 books total. I wish I had known that you weren't going to be able to make it Jonesy and I would have grabbed some books for you. I saw plenty of Savage Dragon through out the day. I did grab a FCBD Valiant and you are welcome to it, but the condition is you have to come by my house to pick t up.

So if anyone has one they're not interested in, let me know. I don't mind store stamps or creases or whatever. I just want it for the story since I doubt the short stories in it will get collected in trade.

I have three VEI copies with a store stamp on them. First three people to PM me their address gets them.

My LCS told me today that the rarest of them all was the Marvel Avengers one. I get one of that. But I did hear some people at the time talking about it. Apparently it wasn't on the list and was a surprise to all shops.
