C2E2 Observations
So....
These are a few observations and opinions of C2E2, VEI, and other things.
1. Dino and company are awesome... For many reasons!
When approached, they treated me and others as if WE were the celebrities. They were very ecstatic and thankful for the support. Gave us a lot of attention and information.
2. After walking the entire show.... VEI stood out as the hardest working most passionate group... At LEAST three fold. Dino knows Atom has these shows under control and can handle it himself, but continues to show up and participate. And by participate... I mean work his *SQUEE* off the Entire show. He sells, he shares stories enthusiastically, enlightens new potential readers on back stories and flat out doesn't stop. All with passion and energy. I think....I know.... He RAN back from the Valiant panels back to the booth.
3. Other retailers look beat down...Valiant's upbeat, energetic enthusiasm became evident to MANY passer-bys. They received a lot of traffic, so much so, that they set a single day record for sells on Friday.... The slower of the days.
4. During the Q&A session of the 25th Anniversary Panel a guy had his hand up. (R U a board member? If you are let me know). He said he didn't have a question... He had something to say. He goes on about how he didn't give V1 the time of day and ow he had about given up on the Big 2. How bad and turned off he has been for years. He said until this relaunch and how he is passionate again and loves EVERYTHING they have done.
What was so impressive.... Was.... I was watching Dino during the guys comments, he was lit up in a way... As if THIS is why we do this. Almost justified and genuinely proud.
5. I am no longer allowed to go to comic cons.
I bought a lot of books... ALL raw (can you believe it? No slabs
). I bought the C2E2 Bloodshot Reborn Variant painted cover from JK Woodward. Bought 3 interior pages from Clayton Henry as well as 2 super badass covers from him. Got CGC to SS many books.

I have to agree, they were great, especially the panels. Fred hooked me up with a Bloodshot Reborn Box knife and Dino had me start the line for the Matt Kindt signing. It was a great weekend.

Re: C2E2 Observations
First time meeting Dino, Rico? I had a similar experience meeting him at the last Boston Comic-con for the first time after knowing him online for the past 15 years or more. There is no doubt the Valiant properties are in good hands. They know they made mistakes, they know they did a lot of things right, and they are always moving forward.

Re: C2E2 Observations
Getting back into Valiant after 14 months off! Already planned on it before the convention, my monthly DCBS haul starts again this month.
Not sure who I spoke with at the booth Sunday, but he helped me pick up The Valiant 1-4, Imperium 1, Divinity 1 and Ninjak 1, all for $20. Good stuff!
Kicking myself for not picking up any of the pins they had at the booth though.
