Guys anyone hearing anything about Darth Vader 4? Another book with new character and much lower numbers than 3. Just wondering....

I sometimes look at mycomicshop.com for somewhat of a gauge on comic values....Hype on old Valiant is definitely there. Eternal Warrior #4, Rai #0, and Solar #3 are fairly high-priced. Those 3 issues weren't that high until the recent movie hype.

I bought Rai #0 close to cover price 2-3 years ago, and collected early Solar issues around the same time......The first 4-5 issues of Rai are high priced now, makes me wish I grabbed those back then. I collected early Solar & Magnus, but neglected Rai aside from issue #0.

As for VEI, I've noticed the only title consistently above cover price, on that site, is Kindt's run on Rai.....And Divinity #1 seems to be the highest priced VEI issue #1 (only at $6 for cover-b, cover-a is sold out).

i use a combination of mycomicshop and midtown both for gaging value
they both are great options to help sort out pricing

Okay, I'll budge. We've been seeing some significant movement on the first appearances of most of the major players since the funding and subsequent movie news goes. But the one that's being overlooked is almost as old as all of the others and has a fraction of the print run. The original Q&W numbers are similar to today's print runs. And it's almost 20 years old, so you're not going to find many in the back issue boxes at the LCS, fresh from a move from the new books wall. I grabbed a few NMs for $3 (regular edition) and $5 (variant) from Mile High, and now they're out of the highest graded copies. Check the CGC census. I think there's one 9.8 out there. The concept is different enough that it might make a good movie, while not so different that it would be a huge risk.

The only Acclaim books that really have value are the rarest. Compared with current print runs, some of those are no rarer than second prints. I doubt if the Acclaim "rares" will fall much (unless they start showing up in quantity), but it will be interesting to see which Acclaim books that never had value get value first (if any).

I'm going to go with first appearances for Acclaim. Right now Q&W #1 and #3 (that's gone from Mile High as well) are the obvious ones. But if VEI ever uses the Troublemakers, Trinity Angels, etc., those could be key as well.

I'm going to go with first appearances for Acclaim. Right now Q&W #1 and #3 (that's gone from Mile High as well) are the obvious ones. But if VEI ever uses the Troublemakers, Trinity Angels, etc., those could be key as well.

Quantum & Woody is the obvious choice. Not sure there are any others? I don't recall any villains or anything of substance. If Shadowman catches on or gets a movie, I could see those rare Shadowman Acclaim books going up in value. High grade for some of those freebee issues are impossible to find.

Wow! A good friend of mine bought a ton if these when they came out as a speculation play. He passed away maybe ten years ago, and I don't think he ever saw the play he made work before then. He was right, though, in the long run.
