Magnus Statue from Dark Horse

CLASSIC COMIC BOOK CHARACTER: MAGNUS, ROBOT FIGHTER
Having produced nearly fifty "syroco" statues so far in our Classic Comic Character series based on newspaper comic strips, Dark Horse is now offering a new Classic Comic Book Character series, featuring characters from a variety of comic book publishers.
The third statue in this series features North Am's Magnus, Robot Fighter, the karate-chopping hero of 4000 A.D.! An enduring creation of comics legend Russ Manning, Magnus first appeared on newsstands in February of 1963. Millions of readers followed the adventures of the only man able to fight the malicious robots of the future. While Russ Manning's work on the Gold Key series lasted only twenty-one issues, his creation has survived generations, influencing countless science fiction artists and writers to this day.
$49.95, in stores on Nov. 16.

I hope that's only a prototype. Looks like it's made of poxy or something. I firmly believe that Magnus deserves better!!!

The Solar looked a lot better. I haven't seen anything that looked like this since Marvel turned out a ceramic Cap America figure back in the 80's. In fact, I think I liked the Cap better. I really like Magnus, but I would rather get another harby pink for the money.
Maybe cornflakeboy is right & this is just a very rough prototype

Hey guys, I suddenly remembered about the classic dark horse statue line. They were putting them out a few years ago. I know they did Tarzan, the Dogpatch Schmoo, The Spirit, and quite a few others. I was unfortunate enough to get the Flash Gordon statue for a christmas present. The best thing about it was the metal tin box it came in. The statue had the same fakey, low quality look of the Magnus we've just seen. Sort of like, as if, dark horse was trying to make it look like a toy from the 30 or 40's. Needless to say I haven't yet placed Flash anywhere on display.

Was it pounded with a meat tenderizer or did someone run it over?
