Re: OTV: Valiant Comic Review
Having read Unity, I'm now listening to the second half and really enjoying it. Lots of nice insights.
EW = Duty. This needs to be this character's one and only ongoing theme.
Constance. Duty. Honor. Gilad should be the epitome of the superhero we have in each of our souls but are compromised by the minutia of our day to day existence.
After having lived through multiple lifetimes and the politics and petty wars and power struggles that are dust in the wind a hundred years later, he should live his life by a single code that transcend the vagaries of time, a core set of principles that outlive the justifications of the present and ring true throughout the annals of human history.

In reading my SA Iron Man run, the constant "But do I really want to be Iron Man?!" schtick gets old fast, and it's like in every other issue.
The VEI EW has been trying to not be the EW since the get go. Feh.
Astro City has been running like a 6 issue arc about Crackerjack and Quarrel and it's rife with inner turmoil. But the turmoil is about how, as they age, they can't be as superhero-ey as they were when they were young.
Somebody get Kurt Busiek on the phone, he knows how to do this.

Our latest. This is, unfortunately, one of the more divisive episodes we've had.
X-O Manowar #35 is up to bat in this latest VCR episode.

As a fan... there is off topic(which doesn't necessarily need to be edited out), and then there's off the rails, fourth wall breaking, full view of backstage. I was shocked by what I heard, and then remembered that it wasn't live... someone actually thought that outburst/reaction was an important part of the show? Then I recalled the date... still hoping this was all an elaborate joke.

Some things probably should be kept private, but on the other side, I think that we have a bit of responsibility to be honest about what is going on, even when it is uncomfortable, or undesirable.

If it's real, then is was a total dick move. Especially being so dismissive about how easy it would be to get him back.

Re: OTV: Valiant Comic Review
Oh hey guys I'm back from a big adventure at ECCC, got a lot of photobucketing to do to bring you guys up to date.
I feel partially responsible, I got "con flu" (yes it's real) at 2:30 the day before I left and I was bagged when we recorded on Monday, I really shouldn't have recorded but as Grendelljd and MarkRoseHFX couldn't make it I felt obligated as a Canadian.
Now I'm sorry I did, once I heard it I realized I was a total jerk.
So sorry Chiclo, I will resign from VCR if you will come back.
I didn't mean to ruin OTV, I feel terrible
It was con flu honest, I'm not usually a jerk.
Unless you are Dunlow

Sounds like others are digging the Canadian Contingent of VCR hosts... Its just another phase of the passive aggressive takeover plan, Dunlow!slack wrote:I enjoy your crazy theories too much.
