Agreed. But it's gotta put the proverbial "bug in their ear." I mentioned in another thread on this that I trust the business people to make the business decisions. And I don't suspect VEI ever reaching into the GK IPs unless they can own them outright, and do so at a good price.Donovan wrote:That doesn't make the idea a financially sound one for VEI, or one immediately worthy of pursuing, however.BugsySig wrote:Believe me, I understand that they must get exhausted and annoyed by the question constantly coming up, but doesn't that also show them the connection people still make between VALIANT and those characters?

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Re: ... and then Dinesh tweeted...
Well if its got nothing to do with the GK characters; why tweet the cover photo and the message? Merely to draw attention to VEI? That's the kinda of slimy self promotion I loath. And I don't really see
VEI and Dinesh engaging in that kinda of behavior based on their past actions. So I think it has to do with either getting the rights to the GK characters or the rights to publish VH1 omnibuses that feature the GK characters (both in their self titles and offshoots ie. Unity saga, etc) Really hoping it isn't shameless self promotion using characters that don't belong to vEI, otherwise they're just dipping into Dynamite territory

Re: ... and then Dinesh tweeted...
I think if VEI is still publishing in the next 3 years, It's not going matter about the Gold Key IPs price, because by then they should establish their own replacements. DIVINITY absolutely replaces SOLAR, and I would expect THE SAVAGE to replace TUROK. I really don't think VEI needs to come up with any replacement for MAGNUS as I think RAI does a fine job of it. But if they did decide to come up with an intellectual property to replace him then the talk about Gold Key characters would hopefully desist.BugsySig wrote: That doesn't make the idea a financially sound one for VEI, or one immediately worthy of pursuing, however.

Personally, I'd give Dino the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure he had a good reason to tweet what he tweeted. If he just wanted to fan flames he could have been doing that non-stop here on the boards and he never did.

Interesting he says he's not interested in Turok. That sounds kind of final, unless he changes his mind. Thanks for posting the info, btw.

The only reason to go back is ..... so long as VEI can profit and make $$$. Who wouldn't?
Same reasons on why Disney has Star wars. Its all about $$$.
If Disney offered to buy VEI for $$$$$.. Would the investors cash out?
Its a no brainer

Well he posted a pic of Jeff bridges with " this is gonna be awesome",Keith wrote:I suggest heading to his feed on Twitter and take a look at what he posted immediately after.dave the second wrote:I doubt it was a joke. Seriously.
and a pic of 2 alpacas with " there will be blood"...not sure what you mean...
Later someone asked if Turok was coming and the reply was not interested something
better, q'er then said thats a shame, was hoping he was going back where he belonged
and D replied "perhaps someday". I just find it stupid if he fans the flames of hope
and doesn't immediately follow up with a " " just kidding" or some explaination that the GK characters aren't coming back. He also mentions valiant vision is returnng ( personal yuck from me, i hate VV)

That is all.
Re: ... and then Dinesh tweeted...
Not really surprised when I think about it. Considering the fact he's the main guy at Valiant tweeted it out to Jeff Lemerie one of their big hires plus it's a character associated very closely to Valiant nobody reported it. I think the entire time there was all of one article posted.

There is no comparison between Star Wars as an IP and the GK3.drmirage wrote:The only reason to go back is ..... so long as VEI can profit and make $$$. Who wouldn't?

One is a proven commercial success (even when the prequel films were negatively received in some parts), the other has a very spotty track record.
Having an investment in IP does not mean that IP will succeed.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

We've been truly "dineshed", lolol.
Happy to hear about this. My opinion, of course.

You hit the nail on the head and that's what many sentimentalist are not grasping, the Gold Key characters have proven their lack of viability and value in today's market.leonmallett wrote:There is no comparison between Star Wars as an IP and the GK3.drmirage wrote:The only reason to go back is ..... so long as VEI can profit and make $$$. Re: ... and then Dinesh tweeted...
Ok, Dinesh responded to another tweet from a guy saying how he wished Turok was back at Valiant with the following:
So my previous stance was that Dinesh was just messing with us based on the Big Lebowski tweet and the alpaca/llamas. I thought they had to be jokes because we clearly aren't getting comics on The Dude by FVL a, or combat llamas by V-Ditti. But what if he is implying something thematically with those images?
The alpaca tweet included the hashtag #therecanbeonlyone. With the recent revelation about multiple X-O armors out there, could it be a hint about a massive armor throw-down coming?
Thinking I need to recant my joke statement!
So that says to me that something is coming, it's not Turok, but it's something along those lines by Jeff Lemire. Presumably "The Savage."Dino wrote:Oh man, you have no idea. @JeffLemire is going to blow your mind!!
