Cutting comics and recommendations
Due to some money concerns I'm cutting my comics down to the core. It's not easy but sometimes it's needed and will pass. So when I get through this crunch I want to try some new comics. So I want some recommendations for some new titles. I want indy superheroes that aren't from the major publishers, I've been curious about FemForce for a while any thoughts on it?
Archie's Dark Red Circle new version of The Shield looks kinda cool.
I would like to try The Elementals but those are out of print and I'm not in the mood to look for a full run of another dead universe title.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Best book on the stands. It's up to issue 40 or so, so there's some catching up to do, but like I say....best book currently published.

I have a 99% complete Elementals run. I just re-read it last year. WOW! It's great.
I was going to move it to my for sale boxes. If you want, I'll hold it for you when your $$$ gets back up and we can work out a deal. It's real good.

Edison rex. Digital first at 99 cents or get the trades for 10 or 15 bucks can't remember. Two trades 16 issues and for some reason on hold

Very much enjoying Rat Queens by Image. Only 8 issues and a special so far. Issue 9 on the way shortly.
Letter 44 by Oni is interesting as well. About 13 or 14 issues so far?

I'm thinking of giving Rat Queens another try with Sejic on art. It should be a book I like. So should have Peter Panzerfaust. I just don't like Wiebe I think.Bone-A-Fach-ee wrote:Very much enjoying Rat Queens by Image. Only 8 issues and a special so far. Issue 9 on the way shortly.

Justice Machine, also published by Comico, was decent as well, even had a 4 issue mini where they teamed up with the Elementals. In fact, I recall seeing a brand-new graphic novel featuring them on Comixology recently, been meaning to buy it.

Agreed, it's probably the best TMNT comic bar-none. It takes the best elements of the '03 turtles and mashes them together with the best elements of the original mirage booksTim wrote:Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Best book on the stands. Something else I really like about it is the fact that is is SO respectful to EVERY incarnation that has come before. It takes the very best from every iteration of the Turtles and blends it perfectly.omega_override wrote:Agreed, it's probably the best TMNT comic bar-none. Yes still published, it comes out quarterly or so. Each new issue is priced at 9.99 cover, which is a drawback but it is a good solid story with good art. I am about 20 issues behind on reading (need to catch up on that soon)StarBrand wrote:Is FemForce being published today?

TMNT as a comic (by anybody) was never anything I could really get into. The original movies I did enjoy.Tim wrote:Blech.omega_override wrote:Which is more than I can say for Turtles Forever......Tim wrote:Something else I really like about it is the fact that is is SO respectful to EVERY incarnation that has come before

I see this title from time to time but I am not sure if I want to start collecting this run. Story-wise, is this comparable to any other titles out there?comicguy wrote:Yes still published, it comes out quarterly or so.
