A lot of lcs did this with star wars. They presold the incentives to cover costs. Some will get you incentive but you have to covet cost of excess books. Most dont have the ability to do this. If Ed were not doing this I would ask the local guy to order the books and pay him what dcbs is charging which would probably cover at least his cost for the books.

Well, I'm fairly stoked that VEI is producing both a colored version and a 1:100 B&W variant for LaRosa's cover; in addition to what was done for Ninjak as well with the colored regular cover and 1:60 B&W variant cover.

(Note: IF VEI randomly decides to produce a Ninjak #1 Gold, I'm going to do backflips...)

BOTH of Ed's deals this month have made me a happy customer!

But to also score the extras that Collectors Paradise has put together makes it damn-near a sin to ignore this deal!

Yes, except 100 copies cost $200 (half retail)

Honestly I do this with Valiant only. I do it as long as the math allows me to pay for the cost of doing the books, and the biggest benefit is

a: numbers for Valiant, a brand I am personally invested in as a fan and as a retailer
b: ability to expose a ton of readers to the books by giving them out to anyone who won't buy it
c: for the hell of it, I like the people that work at Valiant, a few are personal friends and/or ex employees and customers (Andy)

If I make some money on top of it it's a bonus. It takes a lot of work to coordinate and execute this. Exclusive covers and prints take time to figure out, I have to buy a LOT of copies, and send prints off to get signed. Then when the books come in, imagine the logistics of sorting it by cover, then by order, adding any extras people have bought, packing, shipping.... It's a lot of work, it's only worth it for Valiant.

Can I print that on a Tshirt? That's what makes it special and takes the most time. DCBS can give you 50c off extra per book ($4.50 savings a month), but beyond that what else do they do? Just saying...

LOl, yeah, it took a lot of convincing Atom that all my subs deserved a Ninjak box cutter. Diamond only sent 1 per store, I had to commandeer some from valiant offices, by mail. It's good to have my guy Andy on the inside.

So, just to update everyone, We are up to 28 sets sold, and payments are due for everyone by the end of 2nd week of March. I will remind those that have not paid a few days earlier but won't take orders for a single set after the deadline. Like I explained, we order exactly amount of sets x100 copies. This means we are at 2800 copies right now.

I will post the image of the Ninjak and Bloodshot prints rather soon. I have someone special signing those prints, i know several members who'll be really happy!

UPDATE on the sets and prints.

Today is the hard "last day" for pre-orders to be pre-paid for the Bloodshot Reborn set. If you send me an email and I don't reply it's 'cause I am doing a lot of family stuff today and tonight. Paypal the funds in the appropriate amount (see first post) and we'll work it out tomorrow. But tomorrow i am giving my manager who does the monthly orders, a hard amount of books to order, and that amount is literally (Number of sets ordered x 100, because of the 1:100 variant).

Now about the prints. Sending Ninjak sets has been delayed. They are all separated and ready to go, just waiting for the prints. I guess that I have to reveal who is signing the prints so that I can explain why they have not made it back to me yet.

The artist signing the prints is Lewis Larosa. i reached out to him through Dan who sells his art. We sent the prints to him a while ago. First they got held up by bad weather on the east coast. This week and next, he's doing conventions with Valiant. And his schedule is really busy as you know, drawing the next Bloodshot Reborn storyline. It's taking him a bit to get to our prints, and I can't blame him, there is no money in it for him and he's got family to feed. The good thing is that he's doing both Ninjak and Bloodshot prints, so that "SHOULD" mean no delays on Bloodshot. But here is what you will be getting when the prints ship with their respective sets:
