Well, this will be a tough call.

There are AT-LEAST four issues I could easily call "Book of the Month' from Jan.

There were 3 really strong books for me this month, and deciding between the 3 was challenging, but in the end I had to go for Ivar, Timewalker #1 and Dr. Mirage #5, and The Valiant #2 just missed out. It would be interesting to see some kind of survey based on ranking the books instead. :)

Ranking the month for me gives:

1. Ivar, Timewalker #1
2. The Death Defying Doctor Mirage #5
3. The Valiant #2 (very close to the top 2)
4. Unity #14
5. Rai #6
6. Q2 - The Return of Quantum and Woody #4
7. Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel #3
8. Quantum and Woody Must Die #1
9. X-O Manowar #32
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

For me it was the 'Matt Kindt show' this month with the top 3 places going to his books!!

1. Unity 14
2. Rai 6
3. The Valiant 2
Big gap, then...
4. XO 32 (VDitti will come back strong though!)
5. Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel 3

Didn't read the rest. FVL writing not my cup of tea, given up on Q&W and not yet read Dr Mirage (although recently purchased the first 4 issues),

It was another great month

But Ivar #1 was head and shoulders my favorite

2) Unity #14
3) The Valiant #2

4) Rai #6
5) Dr. Mirage #5
6) X-O #32
7) EW: DOS #3

QW Must Die I have not read yet

Q2 is the only VEI that I don't collect - I will probably get the hardcover for this and read it all together

Solid month, all the best books were tough to separate into a ranking for me personally. But here's my stab at it;

1] The Valiant #2 - all around awesome, loved Mr Flay so much I had to draw him for Fan Art Friday last week.

2] Death Defying Dr. Mirage #5 - super strong finish for this amazing mini series. Great on so many levels, it was a tough call not to say this was my top fav. this month.

3] Unity #14 - just loved this issue all around, & great as a wrap on The United story arc. That team is full of some really cool characters new to the Valiant U, & they're not all straight up villains either. Another tough call to drop this book in the third best slot.

4] Ivar, Timewalker #1 - so good. Really enjoyed every bit of it & can't wait to see what FVL does from here. A tad on the cheesy side with the reveal at the end, but it's all within the scope of the good writing that FVL puts out there, IMO. Hard to place this one fourth.

5] RAI #6 - this one also deserves to be higher, it had some great moments & reveals, and I'm excited to see what happens next. Always good signs of a great story.

6] Eternal Warrior DoS #3 - good read, fantastic art from Cary Nord, but still felt kinda thin as a story overall.

7] XO #32 - haven't been a big fan of this brief Armorines arc overalll. This issue was the best, IMO, in how it wrapped up & created future set ups - but overall it's been my least favourite XO story to date.

8] Q&W Must Die #1 - haven't read this one yet, but on flipping through it looked like a fun read.

9] Q2: Return of Q&W #4 - also haven't read it yet, waiting on all five issues to read in one sitting.

Loved Unity #14!!

The Valiant #2 was 2nd, but man, it was tight
Rai #6
Ivar, Timewalker #1
Death Defying Dr Mirage #5
then
X-O Manowar and Eternal Warrior were both decent but not as amazing as the other books this month...so many great ones this month, and February has been fantastic so far too!

Q2 was kind of a disappointment for me, but I'll give it a full re-read, because the ending wasn't terrible.
haven't read QW Must Die...thinking of dropping them, but there's always just enough to keep me coming back. I did like the Delinquents story.
I <3 Faith!!!
