Don't wait to long to flip them.slym2none wrote:I am going on someone else' hunch and have 5 copies of the regular cover of FF#642, and one "connecting cover" variant.
$30 investment, hoping to bring in at least 3 times that, but we'll have to wait & see, won't we?

Early YtLM books have been going dry as of late. From what I've seen #1-3 all command deep price.400yrs wrote:I purchased a Cgc ss 9.6 YtLM 1, but it's stuck in post office limbo.

This books seems to have *many* similarities to Fantastic Four 536, the "Thor's Hammer/Doom" cover, that was part of the Road To Civil War.slym2none wrote:Well, what is "too long?" A week? A month?? That book is a dollar or two on eBay now, but when Civil War started, it was a $15 to $20 book, if I recall correctly.
To triple your investment, you will have to wait until it sells for $15. *If* the book acts as a prologue to Secret Wars, the best time to sell will probably be either right after Secret Wars #0 or right after Secret Wars #1, when excitement for the crossover is at it's highest.
I'd throw it up on eBay with the buy it now you want to get right before FCBD, and see if you can get it sold that month.

Re: Discuss Your Comic Purchases
Just bought some comics to read. Behind on my reading, though. Oh well. My purchase was via mycomicshop.com. I picked up The American 1-8, from Dark Horse circa 1987 or so. I also picked up The Fighting American 1-6, circa 1994 from DC. I'm having all comics placed in new bags and boards for .25 each. So, I'm walking away with 14 comics for 23.00 including bags and boards and shipping.

Re: Discuss Your Comic Purchases
Just bought a complete set of Dell's Nukla, which consists of all four issues published. Also added a Men of Mystery #32, published by AC, because it has story in it featuring a character in it called Mercury Man, who made two comic book appearances in Charlton comics.
I made the purchase through mycomicshop.com. I've really been wanting to read Nukla for quite some time now. I really dig the Gold Key Doctor Solar run, and Nukla is certainly a character from the same time period also influenced by the Cold War nuclear fear present back then. Mercury Man seems to be influenced by it also, from what I've read. Still want to get some old Captain Atoms, who is also along the same lines.
I also wonder if having one issue of Men of Mystery is going to spur me to start a collection of those, since they reprint various Golden Age and apparently Silver Age stories.

Re: Discuss Your Comic Purchases
Some of the best comics being produced today are sold via IndyPlanet, and I just purchased the following issues there:
All-Star Pulp Comics 1 and 2 from Airship 27 and Redbud Studios.
The Charlton Arrow 1-4, published by Charlton Neo.
It will be a blessed day when they arrive and I eagerly open that wonder-filled package. And to think, when I was a kid I often walked the streets of Phoenix to hunt down my favorite comics when I didn't have a ride!

Re: Discuss Your Comic Purchases
I picked up a vf copy of Tales to Astonish #44 from an estate sale this weekend in Arizona for $200. They had no idea what they had on their hands. I felt like I was being watched after I paid as if I would be rushed and tackled afterward.

Over street says raw copy is $1000 for vf. A cgc copy goes for several times that of course.

It's weird how our psyche works sometimes. I was glad to find it since apart from Tales to Astonish #27, I've completed my Ant-Man keys collection. Garage sales and estate sales are plenty fun!
