It has been one I have been looking forward to immensely since Ivar's (re)introduction via Archer and Armstrong.dave wrote:I think Timewalker is one of my least favorite Valiant concepts.

Due to the time travel technology, they're releasing the issues out of numerical order for the first year: 1, 12, 2, 11, 3, 10, 4, 9, 5, 8, 6, then 7. oR drawcaB morf 12 - 1.

My guess ..... Timewalker will be a central character in this years summer of Valiant; and FVL will be the main writer for the crossover

Re: Upcoming News!
it would be a thing if vei would stop doing big events. i don't think armor hunters was that encouraging, saleswise. i mean, i even liked it, but would have probably liked the books without event the same was if not even better. and i don't say they shouldn't do it from time to time (like, every 3-5 years or so), but then it'd better be freakin' fantastic. just having 1-2 annual crossover events because marvel and dc are doing it ... i don't know. for many those have become rather a jumping-off point. also would rather prefer they would give all those new series they launch a little air to breathe.
it's much cooler to generate news with the signing of exciting creators, the introduction of new characters or just good old movie rights sales news

Re: Upcoming News!
All kidding aside, that would be a great idea. But perhaps a tad more linear, like 8 then 1 through 7. Very Tarentino.Phoenix8008 wrote:Due to the time travel technology, they're releasing the issues out of numerical order for the first year: 1, 12, 2, 11, 3, 10, 4, 9, 5, 8, 6, then 7.

Re: Upcoming News!
I'm suddenly thinking of writing a comic that counts backward like the movie memento...start at issue 50 and count down to 1 with a main character with anterograde amnesia...each issue fills in gaps in the story...jmatt wrote:All kidding aside, that would be a great idea. Re: Upcoming News!
Coming from a major detractor of Armor Hunters, even I don't really see/hear about AH turning people off VEI. I hated the execution of the AH event as a whole, but enjoyed lots of the singular issues, especially those involving the AH backstory ( though I believe the climax and finale of AH were both duds) I talk with my LCS manager weekly, and when I asked about this very issue; he said AH actually gained VEI a few readers via pull lists. He couldn 't say how many exactly ( there ate 9 total stores in their cabal of CS) but he estimated about 100 readers added VEi titles after the AH event. I'll have to prod him next week to get some more precise figures, Im curious if they added XO and Unity (2 main AH books) or have added others. Of course this is a small microism of total comic sales in the nation, it gives a Midwrstern glimpse on AH 's effect towards VEI sales.

Re: Upcoming News!
I'd like that; and if so placing the 3 brothers (and also Archer, Mary Maria and Kay) fairly central to such a hypothetical project would be my ideal.bygranddesign wrote:My guess ..... The more I'm thinking about it, though, I'm leaning towards a sold out announcement. Hope I'm wrong!

My money is on a sell-out announcement too - which is great news! Looks like the announcement is that io9 is going to be printing the 1st issue of Timewalker, in parts, for free. Details here, along with a new interview with FVL:

I heart FVL

Van Lente: Ivar has a dark and checkered past (and since this is a time traveler we're talking about here, I do mean past, like thousands of years back to the city-state of Ur, I mean) which he seeks to atone for by eternally walking through time, battle threats to the continuum.
When #1 opens, he rescues Neela Sethi, a brilliant young physicist from 2015, who he says is going to be assassinated for inventing a particularly dangerous form of time travel. He needs her help to defeat her pursuers from Oblivi-1, a sentient city from the end of time that seeks to wipe out all of history.
On the other hand, Ivar lies. A lot. There's something else going on here, and when Neela — and the reader — find out what it is, their minds. Will. Be. Blown. That is a promise.

Re: Upcoming News!
This may be my personally most anticipated Valiant release. I love the concept of time travel used in fiction (for better or for worse), and since Archer & Armstrong is my personal favorite Valiant title, knowing FVL is writing Ivar was all I needed to hear. Absolutely cannot wait to read this.
