we are still close!! I dropped a huge message, responding to someone who said they don't know any books Valiant makes...I tried to remember every book, off the top, gave a quick description, and hopefully people will find something they like. Then I added a comment plugging The Valiant. :thumb:

AND...one comment said they will take a look at Valiant books to see what the hype is about...so I see that the Emperium plan is working :clap:

The Walking Dead. The good Jonathan Hickman books (East of West, MP). Saga. Invincible. The good Rucka, Brubaker, Millar and Remender books. The long-running books by original founders (Spawn, Cyberforce and Savage Dragon). The critic darlings (Prophet, Morning Glories, Chew, Sex Criminals). That's a diverse fanbase there.

Anyone who doesn't know after 2.5yrs of VALIANT being back + articles on CBR&Newsarama are just not branching out AT ALL.
It's having blinders on. I don't gravitate towards Image or Boom but I'm aware of what books are out and upcoming offerings all the same. If not all titles at least some.

Be nice if it was an actual reflection of what ALL readers appreciated. Causing some who only flock to one of the Top 5 (Marvel,DC, Image, DH, Dy) to look at it and say,"Valiant huh, maybe I'll pick a book and see what the fuss is about".

Instead I think most look at it and say,"Some rigged action here, the zealots have been at it" and just keep ignoring the books cause their perception is "it's not real". So if the poll isn't real then the quality of the books is suspect---from their perspective.

I am inclined to agree some may be suspicious of the skewing of the poll; that said, maybe VEI get lucky and it brings some readers attention their way.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Glad to see we rocked this poll - However, I must say I'm disappointed to see no Valiant books on this;

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=58113" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

CBR's top 100 books of 2014... And not a single Valiant title in sight. I think Doctor Mirage & the rail end of Harbinger at the very least should have placed somewhere on this list. And The Valiant, too - there was a title that cracked the top 50 that only had a single issue out!!

:mad:

I do see that someone mentioned RAI in the comments below the article, glad someone spoke up. Is anyone from here signed up with CBR & willing to post more comments questioning the lack of Valiant on there?

Why even bother reading that list?
If you're wondering how the list is made, every contributor from across CBR's network of sites who elects to participate submits a personal list of favorite comics in 2014 -- any genre, publisher or format is fair game, provided it's new material released in 2014 -- which are then ranked evenly, and through the power of mathematics
my guess is there weren't that many contributors and their opinions would be influenced by wanting to promote their friends in the biz.

Also I write off all lists with lumber janes in the top 20 :lol:

Valiant is making some of the best comics today and I found CBR's omission of their titles to be inexcusable. I was not happy about it, particularly in light of some of what they did include in the top 100. Small publishers (particularly when they are doing good work) really need the recognition. However, it might be a bigger site than this one but I am feeling perhaps we invest too much status into CBR as a pro site any way. Myself and a few other posters here I think left a few choice comments in the site Valiant thread on the issue. It is what it is. Me? I am doing my part by just telling my friends they are out there.

CBR is running a poll on top event of 2014

Armor Hunters is number 3 behind Multiversity and Spider-verse.

It's technically Number 1 as those two aren't even finished.
