Free Comic Book Day?
So I just read this article...
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/12/11/ ... y-and-more" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
...and I don't see Valiant anywhere. This is a superbly bad move on Valiant's part imo.

It's still awfully early for all the FCBD announcements. I'm sure VEI will have one. These are likely the "Gold Sponsors". VALIANT was a "Silver Sponsor" last year, I believe.

Well yea that's what I'm hoping. That totally makes sense that it would be in the silver sponsor announcement.BugsySig wrote:It's still awfully early for all the FCBD announcements. Re: Free Comic Book Day?
They announced 12 out of 50 books. I'm sure 1 or 2 of the remaining 38 are Valiant. Also, Diamond has reduced the number of FCBD books it is allowing this year, so if there is only 1 Valiant book it may be Diamond's fault.

I wouldn't be too concerned. As pointed out already, it's still early.

Re: Free Comic Book Day?
Obviously Valiant will have a book. They give away tons of preview books at cons and to stores so there is no way the wouldn't have books laying around to give away.

Re: Free Comic Book Day?
I'm sure they'll have a book. VALIANT isn't the only company that had material last year not mentioned in that piece. It's a first draft as I see it right now.
I frankly found it more than odd that FCBD material would be solicited this far out in advance.

I think it sounds pretty awesome. A new Bloodshot story and a new X-O Manowar story.

Re: Free Comic Book Day?
Awesome. I think it's a good move to put it in the public consciousness that VALIANT is 25 years old. Despite the decade plus respite, it lends credibility to the brand and can even promote interest in the Masters and Omnibus collections.

Re: Free Comic Book Day?
Why do we keep seeing cover art of Livewire with mechanical arms? When is that going to happen?

Re: Free Comic Book Day?
Slight nitpick. For a 25th anniversary the cover appeared to have only current characters. I understand that is what they are trying to sell but for an "anniversary" it would be nice to see some older versions of the characters.jeremycoe wrote:Bleeding Cool has the full list of books, and on it is:

Re: Free Comic Book Day?
I'd rather they used a FCBD book to push the current stuff. I'd love for them to do a 25th anniversary special/month with titles showing the previous continuity as best they can with us paying for it.the1captain wrote:Slight nitpick. Also the website has the cover
http://www.freecomicbookday.com/Home/1/ ... =STK666876" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Interesting things to note character wise:
Faith and Peter are the only Renegades on the cover
All the Anni-padda brothers are represented along with Archer
Ninjak
Geomancer
Quantum and Woody minus the Goat
Geomancer
Bloodshot (no Rai)
Divinity (?) or what ever his name will actually be
Dr. Mirage and spirit Hwen
Shadowman
and Gun-hands Livewire
