I was told by 2 store owners (one who is very successful and a big deal out here on the con circut) that the 2nd print is a real low print run.
My 1st print. Is currently in my not for sale box.
Considering the artwork for the second print cover is the same as the first print, I imagine that the third print will be more desirable than the second, regardless of whatever cooling this book has.

Regarding reprints, Ms Marvel #1 now has a 7th print. I can't think of any other Big-2 comics that have that many prints. (There are some prestige format books, such as Killing Joke, but that seems to be its own thing since there not really a trade collection for that to be collected in. The "collection" is the book. I'm talking regular comics.)

The New 52's Justice League 1 had 8 printings. Avengers vs X-Men 1 and 2 both came in at 7 printings.

That's a tough call on whether to sell your first print right now. :hm:
I have a few 2nd prints, and thoes prices are rising.
The 1st I'm going to for sure hold on to. Maybe I'll sell it after her book starts next year.
I think there is a chance for this book to really take off.

Thanks bro.
My suggestion is.... Hold on to any first prints, and if you can get 2nd prints for cover, do it.

I have to be honest I'm pretty tempted to sell my copies that I have. But I did decide to go ahead today and pick up 10 copies of the third print. It seems pretty rare in the area so I'm very interested in how this will do.

I guess Crossbones has been announced as the Civil War movie villain, and Captain America 359 and 360 are through the roof. Yeah, maybe those are bronze books, but I thought I'd make this post here.

I'm considering dropping the word modern from the title of this thread, thereby making it for discussing hard to find or currently hot comics of all time periods. Thoughts?

Let's see if this lot of 100 Edge of Spider-Verse #2 3rd prints sells. Opening bid is 500.00. The same seller has a bunch, as witnessed by his other lot of 100, and more copies for sale as well. Someone put in a gutsy reorder.

I've seen a definite run on Amazing Spider-Man Vol 3 #4 in the last 48 hours. The only thing I can think of that may have spurred the run is Silk #1 being on the order form for February. There could very well be a different explanation. Sales on eBay yesterday of this issue include:

(Keep in mind these are all sales that happened yesterday. It's also possible I'm missing a few.)

4 copies at 7.99 ea

3 copies at 6.95 ea http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider- ... 35e013925a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A 1:10 variant for 35.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER- ... 462c7a65aa" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A CGC 9.8 copy for 44.95 before shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER- ... 259a4eb30a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A CGC 9.8 copy for 50.99 before shipping (seller raised last copy to 69.99 after that sale)

I made a purchase recently that is fairly speculative, and I wonder what you guys think. I recently picked up a decent copy of Tales of Suspense #58. It's the issue where Cap starts his run in the title (which would eventually change to his title at #100), but that's not the reason I picked it up. It features a Captain America vs. Iron Man fight (the first time they faced off, I think). Any chance this sees some pop as the third Cap movie rolls around? (If not, it's still a decent Silver Age pick up.)
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

I think there is a chance it will get a pop because of the Cap vs Iron Man fight, in view of Civil War. Knowing Stan Lee, that fight ended in a tie.

I have been debating on whether to buy a copy of Journey Into Mystery #99 Mister Hyde's first appearance( which I think is Skye's dad from Agents Of Shield).

I didn't really think it was worth getting first appearances of characters for the movies or TV with the exception of Coulson because they don't seem to really go up, or in the case of Ronan live or get to a sequel. But seeing that the TV series is going to be tying the movie universe together I think it's probably good to start picking up those characters now.

I doubt any Desperate Housewife fan would want the signature of Orson Hodge, nor any Sex and the City fan want an autograph of Trey MacDougal. How I Met Your Mother fans might want one of the Captain, however.
