StarBrand Poll: What 90's companies did you like most?
On behalf of StarBrand, let's attempt this poll again with a different approach.
- More company options.
- You can select more than one.

And little Defiant pulls ahead, even with all the other options.

Unfortunately, our forum application only supports ten (10) poll options. Otherwise, there were more companies I could have listed and imprints.

I went with Defiant, Milestone and Ultraverse.
I also bought a bunch of Harris comics at the time. Mostly Vampirella, but some others too.
CrossGen has a lot of fans, but it was around during a period I dropped out of comics, so I never read any of their stuff.

Uh-oh. Ultraverse is starting to take the lead.
Re: StarBrand Poll: What 90's companies did you like most?
It's an interesting race. Milestone and Broadway are tied for third, but don't have much breathing room over the next batch of companies.

There was a fellow on the CGC board last year tearing into the Valiant award results from one of the comic tracking sites, stating people on here skewed the results by shilling the poll.
Gotta love sour grapes.

Well, he is banned now. So he can sour some grapes somewhere else.

1) Defiant and Broadway IMHO had the most original ideas (and as far as I'm concerned they could easily be merged into one universe with next to little problems). I still think you could revive them today and carry on from where the original series left off.
2) Ultraverse was the most fun and had some great spins on classic superhero tropes, and they were (and IMHO still are) the best promoted comics. Malibu was and still are light-years ahead of any company today in how they marketed their COMIC BOOKS first and foremost and not movies, TV shows, toys, cartoons, video games, and other media tie-ins and spin-offs.

I had no idea Malibu was so extensive in its creative coverage before researching them as part of this survey. But I do remember Ultaverse being a lot of fun. Especially the title Primer, which I really appreciated.Cyberstrike wrote:1) Defiant and Broadway IMHO had the most original ideas (and as far as I'm concerned they could easily be merged into one universe with next to little problems). But this brought back some super memories.
