Pitch Valiant video game ideas!
So, we all know that Valiant actually does look at these boards (which is awesome). So let's think of awesome video game ideas for Valiant characters, because they might read what we say and it could influence them! And they've got a history with/have said they are interested in video games for their IPs. Who knows, it could work!
So here's a few off the top of my head:
Ninjak as a kind of Splinter Cell/Metal Gear Solid game by way of the Arkham games. Would be great, and Doctor Silk would be an excellent video game villain, because you can kill him a lot!
Eternal Warrior would be great as a Prince of Persia/Assassin's Creed/God of War type game. And the new Immortal Enemy seems like a great fit for the main threat. Hell, The Valiant seems like it would be a cool game if adapted.
XO Manowar would be difficult to pull off because of the flight, but could be cool if done well. You could just adapt the whole story from the beginning of the new series to Armor Hunters if you wanted. Or maybe just until the end of Planet Death, then until the end of Armor Hunters as a sequel? There certainly wouldn't be anything else like it on the market.
Bloodshot would obviously be great as a Grand Theft Auto meets Battlefield with some espionage mixed in, and regenerating characters are fun in games because you can tear them up a lot. Plus his protein dependency could be funny as a game mechanic. Kill and eat your enemies! Or cows! So cool!
Archer and Armstrong would be a great adventure game, too. As would Quantum and Woody, but Q&W would need to have a free-roaming city to do silly *SQUEE* in. And a Goat Mode.
Harbinger would be great as a Force Unleashed kind of game, but with a larger breadth of powers and multiple playable characters. This one would be trippy, probably, and would largely be about fighting against the Foundation. Maybe unlocking characters/Renegades as the plot progresses and getting Harada after you beat the game.
And Shadowman would be a fantastic urban-set RPG like Zelda, but dark and messed up, with a bigger focus on combat (probably also like Arkham). Which would be perfect, with Darque as the unstoppable evil dude, the Deadside as a map laid over the normal one you switch between, shadow-hiding powers and killing varied monsters! Imagine roaming a haunted New Orleans on Halloween, trying to stop all hell breaking loose! The side missions alone would be epic. I think in some parts a Silent Hill or Castlevania vibe would also be really fitting. I actually think this would be the coolest, which is probably why one already exists.
Whew! That was long.
So... any thoughts?

I would like a open world Valiant game.
Hey maybe even a Lego Valiant Universe game. They made some for Marvel and DC and they are rather fun.
You could fly around as Aric or Faith, climb buildings as Ninjak, with his high tech stuff, fight your way through tons of enemies as Gilad, shot enemies with lasers as the Goat etc...
For some sections you will need certain powers, like Livewires abilities to manipulate machines to build Lego machines which you can use, like drones, cars, planes or to clear certain path ways, or Torques strenght to punch trough walls or Peters telekenises to move things or control people so they help you advance. The list goes on.
Different costumes and unlockables, for example classic V1 costumes. Silly things like hippie Gilad or unlocking the Goat as a character. A cool unlockable would be a hidden timemachine which is guarded by Ivar and he brings you to the future of the 41 century where you get Rai and another world to play around. So you can go to the future with characters from the present.
I personally would like a Valiant Universe RPG where you take control of Unity and have to build an own Unity team to take on the threats from the books. So you fight Aric(which you can recruit after that), Harada, Silk, the Armor Hunters, etc.
Sadly we don't really have enough story for that, since Unity has only 12 issues now and we need more villains.
The Valiant Universe really needs more recurring villains.

I would like to see that. I just don't like the idea of facing Silk several times, that can easily lead to the same repetitive boss fight again and again.hunter_peterson wrote: Ninjak as a kind of Splinter Cell/Metal Gear Solid game by way of the Arkham games. Actually would like to see those guys together in a road trick game to prevent a great evil from happening. The game could have a GTA kinda style, only you have more characters you can switch between: Quantum, Woody, the Goat, Archer, Armstrong. Quantum could use his force shields to protect himself and his allies to get into close combat. Woody would be the glass cannon character staying in the back shooting people with energy beams. The goat is running around blasting things with lasers. Archer being trained and really athletic could switch between Range(with crossbow) and melee. Armstrong is the melee bruiser. Lots of jokes, lots of Mayhem. Would be awesome!hunter_peterson wrote:Archer and Armstrong would be a great adventure game, too. That's actually kinda my ideal comic book game, not just for Valiant. Using powers like Infamous and switching between characters like GTA5. The only issue is just how feasible it is.Thomas wrote: Actually would like to see those guys together in a road trick game to prevent a great evil from happening. Another idea I'd love to see would be a Capcom fighting game using Valiant characters. Naturally the influence would be from MvC, but unless the game had Valiant crossing over with another property (Image, perhaps?

An MGS-style Ninjak game does sound sweet, but I need to see how Phantom Pain plays first. The series is constantly evolving, and MGS5's new controls/combat system actually looks like something that a Ninjak game could work well with.
Finally, Goat Simulator starring Vincent van Goat. You're welcome.

+1 We've actually tossed this idea around several times on the board and I think it is the most feasible right now. Low risk, just involving a licensing agreement. I really think AkSys Games' BlazBlue series would be an awesome fit and they haven't had any licensed deals yet.Watchtower wrote:

I don't think Valiant has a big enough stable to handle switching characters mid-game. 2.5D preferred as well (not like Capcom's itching to go back to sprites anyway).

X-O Manowar would actually work well with a Titanfall mechanic. You could start out commanding a Wolf class armor and unlock an X-O suit toward the end.hunter_peterson wrote:

Would love to see another Shadowman game done in a similar style as the last one. Armorines had a decent theme, but the game was just not up to standards. Could be a nice title with a lot of rework though. Ninjak would make a nice stealth based game.

Bloodshot and HARD Corps would make a great game. I said this at the time when HARD Corps was introduced that their powers would make for great game play. Using Sequenced power set abilities as part of a strategy shoot'em up game.

Re: Pitch Valiant video game ideas!
I think that a game series starring the 3 brothers Anni Padda would be cool since that is one of the earliest dates in the comics and it is a time where there is a lot of unexplored events. A CG opening movie could explain the boon and what they did. The rest of the game could be from the PV of either Gilad and Aram in an assassin-creed-type environment as they take on a common foe. Each area could be another time period; egypt, england, colonial US, present day. Bloodshot, ninjak, harbingers, sect, could all make cameos thoughout.
I feel like the brothers really are the backbone of much of the universe and that telling their story would be a good exposure to people who have never encountered it as well as fan service for those that have.
although a fighting game might be fun I feel like it would be judged too harshly compared to other established franchises and people would be like why would I spend $50 on this fighting game in which I know none of the characters vs street fighter or mortal kombat where almost all of the fighters I know.
And ever since I played Tenchu way back on PS1 I always thought that it would be cool to update that with ninjak and tech devices.

I think the simpler the better. Valiant is not going to get the budget to do something amazing (video games are really expensive to make nowadays, the high end ones at least). My pick would be either a Fighter, which is simple to do, or a hack n slash like Marvel ultimate alliance but way cheaper. Only big IPs are going to get the monster budgets, or games that have their own world so the game company doesn't have to buy rights.

Re: Pitch Valiant video game ideas!
I think H.A.R.D. Corps sounds like it would be the easiest to adapt to a game. Since it is portrayed as a meat grinder in the comics it doesn't seem ridiculous to have a create your own character option. Cycling through different powers at will also sounds like fun. It could have a hard mode where the only power you get is strobe or something lame like that.
Archer and Armstrong would be fun too. Alternate between the two characters depending on the situation and little by little have Archer gain more access to the Akashic record as the game goes on. Rai could be fun too if only to explore 4001 Japan.

Re: Pitch Valiant video game ideas!
While what you say is true, especially about major triple a games, they could find a very good indie dev and push for IOS and Android designed games first. Unity as a game engine isn't too bad if you wanted to stay cheap but some ios and android games have done wonderfully with Unreal engine.ArmstrongAndHammer wrote:I think the simpler the better. As far as designs for games,
Ninjak using the Batman Arkham series as its base would work great or even Assassins Creed
Eternal Warrior in the Dynasty Warriors-style would be great (hampered of course by character roster)
Archer and Armstrong definetly Uncharted
X-O use God Of War
Bloodshot would work great as open world like GTA
Harbinger either like Infamous or Prototype
The suggestion of Hard Corps as X-Com is brilliant.

what a fun thread!
I play a lot of casual games as of late... so I think in terms of easy to use on my phone.
I think something like Puzzle Quest would be a fun way to introduce Unity, Harbinger. or HardCorps.

A Hero Academy, turn based game...
Would be cute to pick your team members and face off against other ppl.

Has anyone here played a game called Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine?
Basically a game where you choose to be a type of criminal (locksmith, mole, demolition, weapon expert, etc) and try to get through the level based on that skill set. it is multi-player overhead view and very simple graphics.
Imagine that formula but with HC members instead of criminals. Simple and it could be pretty cool!

That might work well for a Harbinger game as far as the different abilities go. I guess what I meant was a top down stealth combat game using a team of specialists.
