Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
This was also brought up by a few people at the con today. I actually was not touting it because I was encouraging them to buy at the booth or their LCS instead. I did not try to not talk about it. My thought was really like I told 1 guy who wanted Armor Hunters #4 because his LSC won't get them until next week (thanks for that Diamond!) Valiant wasn't carrying the new release books because we want to work with LCS and improve their relationships with their customers not cut in and take business away. I think that is very true because if we provide all the books to the fans what incentive is it for a LCS to carry any of the books in the first place? Why would they increase orders on a new release if they know Valiant would sell it to their customer before they can? I would just assure people that valiant is a smart company who understands it's better to support an LCS then to undercut them. And that this humble bumble is a good way for more people to hear about valiant. And hopefully get them interested in new releases coming out so that way they will increase orders on the next project that valiant does. But again that's just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

That's pretty amazing. I thought it was a fun thing to do and it helped me write reviews. Although, I'm not hugely fond of reading comics on my phone.

Unfortunately, I have hard copies of them all. So, I spent $15 I didn't have to!

Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
I have a bunch of Trades, and I ever splurged for a lot of the books when they had a sale on Comixology, but I still grabbed the HB. (I figured I'd give the bulk of the money to charity, though, since I've already paid for most of the books multiple times.) I figured this is a good way to read without having to ruin my hard copies.nycjadie wrote:Unfortunately, I have hard copies of them all. So, I spent $15 I didn't have to!

Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
Hi, I'm new to Valiant (and comic books in general) and would like to get the HB but I have a Kindle Fire and read on comiXology. Does anyone know of a good reader I could use for the HB books?
Thanks in advance

I'm just using dropbox. honestly its one of the better digi reading experiences I've had. it displays the pdf fit to the width of the screen and scrolls through the pages endlessly. feels like reading the comic on an old fashion scroll.AmethystFaerie wrote:Hi, I'm new to Valiant (and comic books in general) and would like to get the HB but I have a Kindle Fire and read on comiXology. Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
Hi and thank you for the welcome. My Fire is a 7 inch tablet so it's not big enough to view a whole page at a time. I need to be able to see each panel individually, which is why I love Guided View in the comiXology app. But I saw previous comments on this thread stating there are better options. I looked through the Amazon app store but didn't see anything great so I was hoping someone here might have a suggestion.ilzuccone wrote:I'm just using dropbox. honestly its one of the better digi reading experiences I've had. it displays the pdf fit to the width of the screen and scrolls through the pages endlessly. feels like reading the comic on an old fashion scroll.AmethystFaerie wrote:Hi, I'm new to Valiant (and comic books in general) and would like to get the HB but I have a Kindle Fire and read on comiXology. Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
My advice would be to buy the bundle, then worry about how to read it. That'll come for sure, but only a few hours left for the deal of the century! Maybe trade in the kindle for an iPad or android device? And welcome to the boards!ilzuccone wrote:ah yeah that would be to small.AmethystFaerie wrote:Hi and thank you for the welcome. I read on my computer, and use an application called Simple Comic. No idea if it's available for the Kindle Fire

So, I imagine that a good number of people will never end up reading these. And another good number will buy them and read only these. What kind of numbers of new monthly readers do people expect to see? It should be an interesting few months of sales. threads.

You can load the books into the Kindle app. There's instructions on the Humble Bundle page. So, they beat Star Trek, right? Anyone know any other humble bundle stats?
How did Valiant rank amongst the Dr. Who bundle, or the Walking Dead bundle? Or the Dynamite bundle?

Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
I purchased this bundle last night and I'm stoked to re-read these stories via my wife's Kindle as my first truly digital experience. It's kind of a test to see if I might one day go completely digital (I doubt I will, honestly
)

The "Unity Suite" ... in progress ...
Re: Valiant Humble Bundle
i think for a true digi experience you should use comixology panel view. or an app that does panel to panel.JonesyAZ wrote:I purchased this bundle last night and I'm stoked to re-read these stories via my wife's Kindle as my first truly digital experience.
