The Secret History of ValiantFans on OTV 160

Post by greg »

A little shameless self-promotion, yes, but I'll point out that anyone who hasn't heard OTV #157 and #158 with Joshua Dysart NEEDS to listen to it first.
(...and I had nothing to do with those episodes, so it's now an OTV promotion, before I mention #160...)

After you finish the Dysart Audio Duo, you have my permission to enjoy this one:

Great job on the podcast, Greg and the OTV fellas! I was always curious about the origins of this board / website so this filled in a lot for me. It's about time we got to know more about Greg!

Listening to it right now. I was an early lurker, about 2000 or so and later. Good to hear some background. Funny that my interest in Valiant follows all you guys. It sounds so familiar.

Long overdue appearance of Greg on one of the Valiant podcasts, very interesting insight! I'd have liked to hear Greg talk more about his collection including the current VEI stuff.

Hopefully another appearance won't be 10 years in the making ! :P

And just in regards to Dinesh and his fan mentality and connection to this message board

When I met him for the first time - one of the first things he asked was whether I was on the message board

When I told him my name on the board - he recognized it immediately which I thought was so cool. The fact that I'm a relatively new member - it shows even though we know he is so busy, how much he is still connected and reads the board even now.

Agreed, Grand. Dino is definitely a star in how well he is connected to and treats the Valiant fanbase. It is his genuine desire to make great comics that makes me truly and wholeheartedly want Valiant to be successful on all accounts! All of the VEI crew really deserve the success thus far and what is to come :)

In regards to the episode, I am truly thankful that Greg accepted my invite as it brings everything full circle for me; first being a board member, then finding the OTV podcast, then joining the show, supporting VEI and now giving Greg and all of you the recognition since ValiantFans has been mentioned on a ton of prior OTV episodes.

One happy dude right now :)

I still need to make time to listen to this one - sounds like it has all the makings for an essential listening experience for anybody who spends time on the boards. Cant wait to hear it.

I just listened to this episode, I was definitely one of those fans who met Dinesh in the booth, then was handed a copy of Ivar #1 and when I read it later, surprised at where I saw Dinesh's name in the credits :D
