Letter 44

I just picked up Vol 1 of Letter 44. I don't want to spoil anything but I love the first volume and think it's a great read. You guys may want to check it out.

I liked this comic more and more every issue. I was afraid it was going to be hacky soapbox for the writer's political beliefs, but it goes deeper than that. Obviously, there is a bit of that, since they use the Bush-to-Obama transition as a springboard, but I like how it's not clear-cut, black & white, one guy pure goodness/other guy blackest evil. There's a great story in the grey.

I bought the first 5 issues off Caxiotis and I pick them up next week. Looking forward to reading this series. Also bought the first 5 issues of "Velvet," and I will get my giant box of VEI TPB's.

I get a total 24 vibe from the book. When I mentioned this to Charles Soule at SDCC he kind of smirked and said "Well the title has a number in it for a reason ...."
