Omnibus speculation?
I'm looking at the valiant deluxe editions. They look great. But I'm thinking an omnibus would be even better. Any rumors or thoughts on what will and won't be collected as omnibuses?

Re: Omnibus speculation?
Well the Quantum & Woody Omnibus is coming out in the fall and they said they'd be open to doing future omnibus editions, but those would likely be for VH1 only.

That's what I've been thinking. seems like these VEI runs are to short for an omnibus collection.BugsySig wrote:Well the Quantum & Woody Omnibus is coming out in the fall and they said they'd be open to doing future omnibus editions, but those would likely be for VH1 only.

Re: Omnibus speculation?
I think an Omnibus is more like a complete series in one volume or it is more than 12 issues like a HC.swtor1091 wrote:Whats the diffrence between a Omnibus and Hardcover

I probably can't afford to collect these massive omnibuses, but it's very cool that they're doing it for XO now.ilzuccone wrote:i'm all about Valiant omnibuses right now!mateo107 wrote:and he said it would include the complete series!bygranddesign wrote:At the panel today Atom mentioned an X-O(vh1)omnibus in the works

Re: Omnibus speculation?
That makes sense since VEI did those hardcovers a few years back of the first 6 issues or so of VH1 XO, Harby and A&A. This is a way to reprint and collect those series again without duplicating what they've already done (and many have already purchased) with a Valiant Masters volume. It would also be awkward to just print a Volume 2 of those series in a Masters collection. I'd guess Harby and A&A would come after XO.bygranddesign wrote:At the panel today Atom mentioned an X-O(vh1)omnibus in the works

Now I can't decide if I want to bind my X-O run or just buy the Omnibus.

Re: Omnibus speculation?
binding is a great way to go. I don't have a complete run (yet) for binding so i'll be getting these omnibuses.mkb28 wrote:Better wear a back brace lifting that puppy up!mateo107 wrote:and he said it would include the complete series!bygranddesign wrote:At the panel today Atom mentioned an X-O(vh1)omnibus in the works![]()
Now I can't decide if I want to bind my X-O run or just buy the Omnibus.Probably will take 3 HC's to do the job at $30.00 bucks a piece. May be cheaper than the Omnibus, plus I get them out of a long box and onto my bookshelf.
Binding it is!

Sounds like VEI has omnibus on the brain.

Arguably not quite so...mateo107 wrote:just remember guys, the plural of omnibus is omnibi, not "omnibuses".

The plural of omnibus may not be omnibi:
Suggesting that omnibus is already plural in Latin, and therefore the Anglicized version should be omnibuses: https://www.stjohnkarp.net/the-problem-with-plurals/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Me? I am not a Latin reader, but will be going with 'omnibuses', the evidence seems a little stronger to support that one, plus I hate the sound of the word 'omnibi'.
