The cover is detached but otherwise, yes, it appears so.

I scored a great deal on books at contents sale auction. I wasn't planning on going because the comics advertised had only shown the ASM 375 (not sure why), and my weekend was packed as I participating in company dragonboat races.

I got there immediately after some guy, who didn't even look at the comics, went to one of the gals working there and offered $60. She declined, and he walked away without even looking through the two longboxes...so that gave me a few minutes to quickly flip through it and this is what I pulled. I went back to that same gal, she was pretty cute and I chatted with her for a bit, and she said $40? (keep in mind everything was only a buck a piece) I'm like, alright, haha...

The ASM 298,299 were in solid NM condition, so I replaced the bags with mylars.

Killer deal, Nick. Hell, the VOB #1 special and the SMOS #18 were worth more than what you paid, not to mention the ASM #298 :bugeyed: !!

Too bad that Spider-Man #1 GOLD wasn't the Wal-Mart UPC variant, though :P .

Great snag, man; great snag :thumb: !

Thanks. :) I've put in some time to research key books, I would have passed on a few of these a year ago, and it's possible I left some stuff behind. So maybe someone grabbed some decent stuff. Two lessons of the day, the early bird gets the worm...had I not shown up the next guy would have grabbed all these. And also, always be friendly and nice to any staff you deal with, usually good things will happen.

GGSAE, I'm officially jealous. I still need most of those ASM issues. Somehow I think I'll end up paying more for mine.

My wife and I go to a lot of antique markets. Memorable finds at this particular market include:

TMNT # 1 (First Print) $10 - yes, that's not a typo.
Four Color 596 $10
Marvel Family # 1 (coverless) $10
Marvel Zombies # 1 (First Print) $1
Amazing Spiderman # 36 (V2 World Trade Center issue) $1
