Grabbed a bunch of Vertigo and Valiants for a buck a piece last weekend. The valiants had a full pre-unity set minus Rai 2,4,5, but there was an extra Harby 1, and 4 extra Solar 10s).

Thanks guys, this comes less than a week after getting Valiant Heroes edition for $30; there's deals out there (even on obvious books like Harby 1), so don't stop hunting!

It's only listed as a VF, but still, not going to complain:

If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Just in from Ottawa Comic-Con, and although most dealers books were sky high (I saw a Harby 1 for $250, but had a 50% discount  ), I did snag some decent buys:
$3 a piece: The Strain #1 (the 6th copy of this book I've found in LCS bins), GOTG #1(copper age), Visitor Newwstand, DMZ #14 (Scalped preview), Deadside 1-3 ($2 a piece), Scalped #60. I also found a bunch of decent priced books, and found some VE1s I'm missing for a buck a piece (some of these just came out too, Rai#1?). It's funny, a different dealer had said "who would sell that GOTG for $3?", lol.

I have not been able to go on a comic shop run in a while.

But I am looking forward to the pre show shopping at Big Wow.

The money find: I'm flipping the Wolvie variant (paid $10 for) to my buddy who's a die-hard Wolvie fan for what I paid. I also grabbed the Sandman Blue Variant for $10. :o

That's a great price for that book, no matter how ya' slice it.

I'm just curious if you've received it yet, and if so, if it was actually ANYwhere close to the "flawless copy" the seller described it to be in.

It is in really good shape. I am not skilled enough a grader to make finer distinctions in grades but it could be NM. As long as a comic is VF or better I am generally happy with it.

Then you're much more lenient than I am...or what many here might consider a wee bit anal-retentive :atomic: .

Again, though, on a book of that caliber at that price, you done just fine in my playbook :thumb: .

Just got a great lot of books from a dealer I've been meaning to check out for awhile...all for 85 bones
SST #10 (VF), #37 (VF),#67,
Batman:443,448,449,434, 285 (low grade), Superman 319, 285 (both low grade)
X-Men 281 (2nd Print), X-Men 282, 273 (low grade)
Tales of Teen Titans 45,48

these are all NM: House of Mystery Annual 1, TMNT (Image) #2, Deathmate Black Gold, Action Comics 775, V for Vendetta #1, Man of Steel 18, Cloak and Dagger #1 and 25 Valiants (all late/last issues), e.g. Eternal Warrior 46, Solar 59.

I might go back there, there were a number of books that I thought about picking up but passed on (only brought so much cash with me).
