Re: Bragging rights - your best deal of late?
I scored a great deal on books at contents sale auction. I wasn't planning on going because the comics advertised had only shown the ASM 375 (not sure why), and my weekend was packed as I participating in company dragonboat races.
I got there immediately after some guy, who didn't even look at the comics, went to one of the gals working there and offered $60. She declined, and he walked away without even looking through the two longboxes...so that gave me a few minutes to quickly flip through it and this is what I pulled. I went back to that same gal, she was pretty cute and I chatted with her for a bit, and she said $40? (keep in mind everything was only a buck a piece) I'm like, alright, haha...
The ASM 298,299 were in solid NM condition, so I replaced the bags with mylars.

Killer deal, Nick. Hell, the VOB #1 special and the SMOS #18 were worth more than what you paid, not to mention the ASM #298
!!
Too bad that Spider-Man #1 GOLD wasn't the Wal-Mart UPC variant, though
.
Great snag, man; great snag

Nowhere near as awesome as the most recent posts in this topic, but I LOVE getting VEI books for $0.50 each shipped.

GGSAE, I'm officially jealous. I still need most of those ASM issues. Somehow I think I'll end up paying more for mine.
