End Times pretty much flows from the previous issues, is unconnected to Armor Hunters (so no 'free pass' for that), and followed on in the subsequent month. To me VEI is not much better than say Marvel for that reason. It is just a question of scale; Marvel is inevitably more noticeable. But both companies have a stated strategy around chasing new number ones.Cyberstrike wrote:My problem is the renumbering it's when it is done for the wrong for the reasons. If VEI decided to cancel Unity because it wasn't selling enough to make a profit for them or the creators AND company feel it's ran course and is no longer needed then I have no problems with that. But if they cancel it then restart the next month with a new #1, a new creative team, "a new direction", new members, and etc. I feel that is the WRONG reason to cancel a series and I say it's BS.400yrs wrote:+2jxm640 wrote:+1leonmallett wrote:Am I the only one who finds thread ironic given that VEI are chasing #1's this year...?
There's nothing wrong with renumbering except the confusion it can bring and that's a minor thing.

Now before someone brings up books like Spider-Man 2099 vol. 2 and say how can I support it and not support the All-New Marvel Now nonsense. It's simple Spider-Man 2099 vol. 1 was canceled over a DECADE ago now granted the character has popped up in other series over the years but it's been a long time since Miguel O'Hara has been in his own ongoing series. So as they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.

VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Clearly Evan Dorkin was a visionary with his numbering of Milk & Cheese.

I used to buy Milk & Cheese. Who could resist the tagline: When Dairy Products Go Bad.kjjohanson wrote:Clearly Evan Dorkin was a visionary with his numbering of Milk & Cheese.

I can binge read comics but it not as much as fun as it used to be. I don't have mental energy it would take me to read 25 issues or more in one setting anymore. I think my record was close to 50 I don't have an exact number it was 6 months worth of EVERY X-title Marvel was publishing that lead up to Onslaught event. It took me 3 hours to get through all that and I got extra sized headache as a bonus.400yrs wrote:Videos and comics are a different medium and netflix is completely different price wise. Sidebar: I seem to remember Bart Sears was going to do a 50-issues maxi-series that launched with #50 (the final issue) and then would eventually end (start?) with issue #1. I think it got abandoned after 2 issues or something. Anyone remember this?

Similar problem for me; I have a huge backlog of books to read over the past 18-24 months and the pile just keeps getting bigger.Cyberstrike wrote:I can binge read comics but it not as much as fun as it used to be. I don't know how I used to do it either. I remember vividly when I was 19-20, reading over 100 issues of Hulk in a 24 hour period. Did the same with a huge run of Swamp Thing too. Nowadays I can't do more than a few issues a day of pretty much anything.leonmallett wrote:Similar problem for me; I have a huge backlog of books to read over the past 18-24 months and the pile just keeps getting bigger.Cyberstrike wrote:I can binge read comics but it not as much as fun as it used to be. Yep. Basically tends to be an 'end of day' opportunity for me, so never more than around 4-6 books, and certainly not every night.Tim wrote:I don't know how I used to do it either.
