This actually seems like the perfect time to make the requirement of having more posts than Rubiks-Q-Bert.

I also never got the VF version last year as I was just getting active again here (was already very active in the new VEI reading)and didn't even pay enough attention. I would truly enjoy one, or more. If any sitting on a bunch wants drop out say 10 so that it would be worth me paying for them I would gladly do so. I would still take even just one, but I feel guilty if I don't pay for it.

I guess someone will eventually post how we get this year's copy? It'll be cool to have something to show my involvement with this site. This is a cool place and I pretty much visit every day now. I love the new VEI and that's re-excited me about this board.

My guess is Greg went ahead and ordered the 500 or 1000 copies necessary to get the personalized edition. They'll probably be stored in his VALIANT bunker next to Jim Shooter's brain.

Last year we needed 5000 and it was a mad scramble to get 10 members to agree to put up the cash for 500 books. Then we split them up by 50 and 100 in different regions before redistributing them again in smaller quantities to those who wanted them.

It was a LOT of work as I was a recipient of one of the cases of 500. It was really exciting being involved in making it happen, though. And, I have one of the Diamond cases it came in.

I've still got a stack, and one of the 6 primary recipients for the box that I received only asked for a small portion of the books he purchased, so I have the balance of those as well. I've been trying to figure out what to do with them. When I get around to selling some of my comics on eBay, I'm going to include a copy as a freebie, but it's still going to take a while before they're gone. I'll probably bring a bunch to NYCC this year to give away at the Valiant panel to recruit new members. Meant to do that last year but was so unorganized when the con rolled around due to my work schedule, so they never got there.

My guess is that they don't realize they have a custom book, since it doesn't mention another store, so they probably think they have the 'regular' version and they'll treat them like all the other regular versions from the other publishers.
