Damn those are AWESOME! How did you get the Booth? I didn't see him there and he said he wasn't coming.

Jace, First, nice meeting you man! And your lovely wife!
But, you may need to help a brotha out here. I don't know most of these characters, and can't tell who did the sketches! Can you fill me in?
Great job on all of them!

Re: Wonder Con Sketch Thread
The Booth Nightwing I picked up @ Phoenix Comicon 2013. It is on the back of a bristol board, so it is quite large. The only problem was one hand/glove and one boot were not finished. They were just lain out. That's probably why I got it for only $30. Though Brett was having quite the fire sale @ that show, so even finished it may have been very reasonable. I also got 2 New 52 Teen Titans original art pages for $40 each. Anyway, I got in touch with Norm Rapmund who I have meet several times. He inks Brett a lot & is a really nice guy. I have a Red Tornado he did for me in one of my sketchbooks. Norm said he'd be happy to finish the glove & boot while throwing in some light background to add depth. Then he'd ink the whole thing. I asked if he'd be at Wonder Con this year and when he said yes, I mailed him the piece & picked it up this weekend.Ramses818 wrote:Damn those are AWESOME! How did you get the Booth? Norm is great. I always enjoy talking to him. I can't believe your luck! I would have bought so much from Brett, esp. at those prices!
thanks for the info.

Re: Wonder Con Sketch Thread
Yeah they were great prices. What was funny was Norm was at that show too and he was sitting right next to Brett. Norm's prices for pages were higher and he didn't sell much the first day because Brett's prices were so low. He even bought some pages from Brett himself. By the second day though all the lower priced stuff was gone. When I got those three pieces I ran out to the car and decided I wanted two more that I saw and by the time I got back they were gone.Ramses818 wrote:Norm is great. I always enjoy talking to him. Great job on all of them!
First piece is Nightwing by Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund
Second is Lightning Lass by Jeff Martinez
Third is Karate Kid by Gabe Eltaeb
Fourth is Saturn Girl by Oliver Nome
Fifth is Hawkgirl by Jesse Mesa Toves
Sixth is the new 52 Katana by Richard Friend
Seventh is Batgirl by Natalie Madeline Ales
Last is Firestorm by Jeffrey Edwards
The Toves Hawkgirl and the Edwards Firestorm really have to be seen in person to be appreciated the level of detail in both is quite high.
Both of those guys are right at the top of my list of artist I would recommend getting sketches from. Both really nice guys and pretty reasonable prices, especially Jesse. THAT HAWKGIRL WAS ONLY $20!!!! I have paid waaay more for far worse/less detailed pieces.

I got a Moriarty from Anthony Diecedue.
I don't have photos because that is not how I do things.

Here is the sketch card we got.

And my favorite - a sketch of our dog, Winter, by Llyn Hunter (storyboard artist for Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs).

Really digging those sketches, the Moriarty is great and you can practically feel the drool from your dog!

As is frequently the case, the answer to your question is "illumination".Elveen wrote:Chiclo wrote:I got a Moriarty from Anthony Diecedue.

I was surprised at how good the sketch of Winter was.
