You should probably start with Classic Media, LLC.

I believe they are handling some of the licenses for the old Western characters.

I also think that Western became "Golden Books", which is now owned
by Random House. So I'm not 100% sure how Classic Media fits in,
but I believe Magnus is being handled by Classic Media...
so they're all connected somehow. :)

Thanks a lot for the information greg. And just out of curiosity, how many of you would be interested in Valiant character statues/mini busts? I am a sculptor and am currently looking for an affordable comic license to get me started in the industry and Valiant seemed perfect. I collected some of the titles when they were going . And by what i see at this site they still seem to be popular with those who also collected them. So if statues /mini busts were available of these characters would you buy them? And if so what characters would you be most interested in seeing?

I'd be interested... I alreday have a number of Bowen busts/statues, but would be interested in busts/statues of:

Solar
Magnus
X-O
Rai

In that order, of course.

Dead_Poole,

Thanks for the additional information.

I assume you've already made a note that most of the Valiant characters
are still owned by Acclaim Entertainment, Inc.

Since you only asked about Western Publishing, who owns Solar, Magnus, and Turok...
I just wanted to make sure you knew Acclaim owns "everyone else".

Greg

You may want to contact Dark horse or I books. I books will be putting out new Magnus stuff and Dark Horse will be collecting the Gold Key Magnus stuff in TPB form.

Yeah greg i read the article here that talked about acclaim. It seems solar and magnus are the most popular of the characters anyway. Acclaim is having some financial problems it seems so dealing with them may not be too difficult. Thanks for that info x-o. From what ive read it seems dark horse and I books just have a deal with classic to publish novels and graphic novels. Didnt really say anything about other licenses. Thanks a lot guys youve been very helpful

Apathy is the enemy there. No one has been able to get anywhere with Acclaim. They don't care at the moment.

Great pics Dead Poole!

While you're considering doing sculptures of the Valiant heroes, don't forget the roster of Valiant Villians & secondary characters that would look great also!---Steve G

Thanks a lot Steve. And of course you gotta have those. It looks like the lincenses are in quite a mess though. Hopefully I can get it straightened out a little tho.

Good idea...

Dead_Poole, this is as close as we got to having an official Valiant sculpture.

Only two or three of these prototypes were created in 1995,
but they were left unpainted and unproduced.

Give the credit to Jimmy Palmiotti... his name is signed on the bottom.
I was lucky enough to purchase one of the two (or three) prototypes,
but I certainly didn't do anything to help in their creation. :)
