Enjoyed the 2014 comic book reading resolutions podcast, interesting stuff!
Elveen, I for one, enjoy hearing about your business as a retailer, it's an angle of the industry we don't hear enough of so please keep letting us know the ups and downs.
Jonesy - congrats on your exciting news

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
My picks
(I'll email this as well)
Best Individual Issue - Shadowman #0
Best Story Arc (any arc that finished in 2013): Far Faraway
Best Ongoing Series -- Archer and Armstrong
Best Artist - Roberto De La Torre
Best Writer - Joshua Dysart
Best Cover - Harbinger #18 (Walsh Cover)
Best Main Character - Armstrong
Best Supporting Character - Ivar
Best Kill - Harada head doofing Saturn (Harbinger Wars #2)
Best OTV Episode - After Dark at Wondercon episode
I'm behind on my OTV but could there be a better episode than the Wondercon episode?
I listen to that episode a bunch of times - A great job by OTV in getting these great vei people together(Dysart, Asmus, Dinesh, Peirce..etc) and getting them all to relax and have a cool, slightly inebriated
conversation that didn't feel forced and seemed like a genuine good time. Kudos to you guys for that great episode.

I went with 100 too, but After Dark was a close second!

I like the 100th episode also. I can listen to Dinesh speak all day - incredibly informative. But its hard to duplicate the party atmosphere and excitement of the Wondercon episode.

Thought I would put this here, my Dad and I are moving to "by the trade" reading for comics. So Perspective articles will take a momentary hiatus (I think this is like the third break, I'm so inconsistent) to catch up with the recent stuff. Hopefully Amazon ships quickly...and in smaller boxes.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Great episode guys. Eternal Warrior was my favorite character from the old Valiant universe. That said I really want to like this series. But I tried to reread the first story arc and I couldn't get through it. For most of the reasons mentioned in the episode. If this takes place before A & A I still don't see how the EW we see in his own series leads to the EW we see in A & A. In his own series he is so disenchanted yet when he appears in A & A he seems 100 percent devoted to the earth and the geomancers again. How did that happen? Haven't read issue 5 yet. Considering the time jump I'll give it another story arc to see what happens.

Enjoyed the Eternal Warrior episode, guys. I share some of the concerns with the first arc as well. And I think Diego Bernard deserves some props for stepping in towards the end to do fill-in pages. Hairsine is just not fast enough.

IMO, EW #5 is a game changer. EW #6 ranks in the top 3-ish of anticipation of all VEI books for me.

Alice in Chains guitar player is Jerry Cantrell. Sean and Jonesy you each lose a Metalhead point.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Got to agree with Elveen on the EW debate! The characterisation of Eternal Warrior is much better in the Eternal Warrior series than in the original appearance in A&A. Seems like VEI hadn't properly figured out the character of EW when FVL wrote his appearance in A&A.
Not sure about the comparisons with Wolverine as I only have a cursory knowledge of that character?

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Best of 2013 ... another great episode guys. Thanks for the shout out, I'm glad you enjoyed the Chipotle Chicken Pasta. I think what was so interesting and fun about the episode is the same thing that I am finding is such a HUGE strength for VEI. Diversity!!!! All of us can be big fans of the current Valiant and yet have such different answers to the same questions and be passionate about it. Love Valiant and love this community of fans.
And on the pet name front .... No comic book named pet. but my wife and I named our Yorkshire Terrier Teal'c. As I hope you all know that is a main character from the great Stargate SG-1 TV show.

Although in hindsight, I think I may have credited Tom Mason erroneously, the correct credit may be Dave Olbrech.
