Re: my musical instrument addiction
Dude - great meeting you in NYC this past April. x-omatic likes the sketch of Master Darque you did for the "jam piece" I got him!!!Andrew Wendel wrote:I've played guitar for 27 years. I've got 21 guitars - really into Fender Telecasters, Jaguars, Jazzmasters, older Gretsches and Gibsons, and I've put together acouple custom ones myself. I play in NY with a surf band called the Sea Devils (just reformed after a 2-year hiatus and a spell as The Shinto Kings) and with a great songwriter named LJ Murphy (http://ljmurphy.com). I'm also a producer/engineer with my own analog studio. I just did a French-only 10" vinyl release for the Fleshtones and have done a number of albums for NY groups that are too lazy to get label distribution. I hope to become affiliated with Strummerville, the UK-based foundation in memory of Joe Strummer, and record punk bands for nothing (well, for a tax write-off) as part of their plan to offer struggling musicians a leg up.
Art pays the bills, but music is too much fun to give up. (Ask Mike Cavallero about the last time I saw him at Coyote studios in Williamsburg with his green Gretsch Tenneseean... he's a rocker himself, and a lot more high-profile than I am)
Are there enough plugs and brand-name references in this post for everybody?

Re: Andrew Wendel here
Nice !!!Andrew Wendel wrote:I just found out about this site today from Sean Chen. Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still out there, still drawing, and planning a return to the field soon, possibly with a creator-owned property. I also have a LOT of old pages from the thirty or so books that I penciled and/or inked while at VALIANT, and most are definitely for sale (but NOT the Giordano-inked Bloodshot cover, or the Ralph Reese-inked Magnus cover, or anything inked by Rudy Nebres).
I'm willing to do commissions too - I need extra money to feed my musical instrument addiction.
Welcome

Re: Finding past Valiant artists
Does anyone know the contact info for Ted Halsted? I know he is on LinkedIn but was unable to get touch with him. Really enjoyed his art on EW.
