Valiant Mount Rushmore

So, I just posted this in the Marvel, DC, Independent thread, but if there was a Valiant Mount Rushmore of creators/ behind the scenes people, who would you put on there?
Mine would be:
Jim Shooter
Bob Layton
Barry Windsor-Smith
David Lapham

What would your be?

Does it include the new generation? Hell, Dino deserves a mountain of credit for what he has done. Warren Simons, maybe?

It can be whoever you want, from VH1, all the way through VEI. I would have put Dinesh, but I don't want him to get a big head! Hah!

In that case I would take BWS and Lapham off (and believe me, I love what those guys did for Valiant!) and move Dinesh and Warren up there. Especially if things move along smoothly for the next couple of years.

I guess if you put Fred Pierce up there he would be the Coolest Man on the Mountain.

Shooter for sure
Layton and BWS are good bets.

I don't think Lapham would be there. I am a huge fan of his work, but while his art was solid that is about all his contribution was to Valiant.

Bob Hall could work. He came ina bit late, but his run on Shadowman was epic.

From VEI i think Dino is the only one who truly deserves to be on the same level, even though he doesn't actually write or draw. It was his (and Jason Kothari's, but Dino seems more like the "face" of the duo) efforts that brought the Valiant universe back.

I think it is too early to judge any of the creative work from VEI. X-O seems like the best overall story to me personally, but i know others really like Harbinger and/or Archer & Armstrong.

Kevin Van Hook could be up there too, he took on a ton of Shooters work post-Unity.
Solar, EW, A&A, and (especially) Bloodshoot

Not following the new relaunch but from the original V1:

Jim Shooter
Bob Layton
Bob Hall
Don Perlin (his contribution to Valiant was severely unappreciated, he was there since the beginning.
He was in charge of the art direction and trained Knob Row. How may of those artist are still working thanks to him, Joe Quesada included). Plus, he got me into Valiant before the launch :D

I think Dino would be the 1st one to tell you that without Warren and Fred there would be no VEI re-launch.
I think the issue is that Rushmore is limited to 4 peeps...... that is the issue.

There would be no VEI without VH1 and them dudes....... but the VEI re-launch is truely a team effort. That is the coolest. Heck not sure the re-launch would have happened with the Cuneos.

Well, the actual Mount Rushmore was a mix of old and (relatively) new when it was established, so I'd say yes.

Shooter and Layton, Dino and Warren?

How about a hall of shame?

First up...Fabian. Then...Voyager?

Shooter
BWS
Layton
JayJay

JayJay invented the coloring process that gave Valiant that unique look. It was hard for me to swap out Lapham as I love his work but JayJay's impact was line-wide.

I agree with Iggy on JJ. Without her, V1 would have had a completely different feel.

Shooter
Dino
Layton
Warren

...would be my picks. It is almost a crime to pick only 4 though because there are really a lot of people who are deserving. The top two for me though without a doubt have to be Shooter and Dinesh, knowing Dino he will say none of it was possible without the members here on Valiant Fans and other fans elsewhere and say there needs to be a 'fan face' on there. A big face made up of lots of little faces, like those Disney Collages you see where the big picture of Mickey Mouse is made up of a lot of little Mickey pictures.

Good call, and he stuck around for quite a while. Not sure where he stopped, but i think he even wrote the "Visitor" series. Not sure if he did any work after the full on acclaim reboot.

He was going to come back and changed his mind. Then Fabian arrived and the rest is VH2.
