First of all, I haven't posted on here in a while. Sorry. I've missed you. Mostly i haven't posted because i don't really like the new Valiant titles all that much. I've tried them all, and i just can't get into them. I've still bought all the Harbinger issues and will try to catch up at some point, but that's probably the only title i will do so with. (i'll probably give the new Rai a shot though since he's one of my favorites).
I just realized i'm probably boring you. On with the reason for my posting. This will make the second time that i have stumbled upon a cache of never brought to the market Valiant art. The first time it was a couple of hundred pieces with everything from original pitch pages, scarce promo items, to a stack of Deathmate colors. It was crazy. I still have a lot of that stuff in my personal collection, but i also traded a bunch to MagnusR and some others for other Valiant stuff they had.
This time i was walking around the New Orleans wizard world show bored and happened upon a booth with a box titled (I kid you not) "Valiant Pre-unity original art". I almost had an immediate heart attack as i jumped towards the box. The lady selling the art was Kat Bollinger. She was responsible for inking (and coloring) a bunch of early Valiant stuff. Not only that, but she pretty much created Tekla and had a lot to do with the creation of Harbinger. I know this because we talked for a long time about Valiant and she told me all kinds of neat behind the scenes stuff that i never knew. She was awesome. Why did she have all this art? Isn't it 2014? It seems like all this stuff would have sold a Looooooong time ago. Well, she informed me that she hadn't done a comic show in TWENTY YEARS. This stuff had been sitting in her attic all this time! This is Valiant equivalent of finding a Golden age collection. She's not really big on crowds so she has avoided shows for over 2 decades. Like i said though, she is completely awesome and i had a blast just hanging out with her and her friend Marrus (who also worked for Valiant) as long as i did. Somehow through this weird random fateful twist i negotiated for 32 pages of stuff. Below are the pages i got that i would be interested in trading.
I have another 17 pieces that I have no plan of getting rid of that i am in love with. I might post pics of those at some point, but I see no reason to taunt you guys with stuff that i won't be letting go. Some key words in regards to the stuff i'm keeping  : Rai opening splash pages, Layton X-O pages, First meeting of Magnus and Solar, Magnus vs Rai, Rai 1st appearance, Harbinger #0 pages........
Before i post the art, Someone fill me in on these. Kat didn't know much about them, and i can't find anything either. I know they are rare since i've never had them lol. BTW they have been in a portfolio for decades and are in flawless condition.

Anyhow, anyone that has any info regarding them please feel free to share.

I got some Rai and the future force 9 pages too (the only post unity stuff that i got, but it was such an important issue i couldn't not)

Rai #9 page 14

anyhow, that's what is available. If you want to trade send me a PM with a list of stuff that you are offering. (Don't waste our time with weak sauce offerings of post unity art stuff unless it's super awesome.) I would like other Unity and before art, but i'm open to a lot of things. If you have stacks of Key CGC'd books i'm all ears. If you need references, I have sold several things to Greg over the years and have traded with MagnusR. (I've sold etc. to others as well, but those are 2 big dogs off the top of my head) Also, I'm comicbooksgo formerly Elijah Snow on the cgc boards.

Regarding the posters, there's a total of 4. Your set is missing a B&W Solar 1 cover and a WWF. All are pretty rare. Price wise, I'd say $30 to $50 each. I paid $35 for a Solar one several years ago.

NONE of these are for sale. Very unlikely that i would trade any of them either, but i guess i shouldn't say that if a nice Harbinger 1 page or something was offered up. Anyway, without further ado, Here is the 2nd half of my New Orleans haul. (You would think i would have a Shadowman in here somewhere, but alas....)

Harbinger #0 pg 5 Pete meets some eggbreakers for the 1st time
Image

Harbinger #0 pg 11 Harada tests Pete/ decides to kill him.
Image

Rai #9 pg 16 1st page with Spylocke on it. (one of my favorite valiant characters)
Image

Magnus #6 pg 6 1st Meeting of Magnus and Solar EVER. (unless i'm wrong. I think i'm right though..)

X-O Manowar #2 pg 19 Aric vs the Spider aliens I got Bollinger and Layton to sign this one.
Image

Image

Rai 9 pg 8 great Battle page with Magnus, Rai, Eternal Warrior, X-O commando etc fighting the Malevs
Image

The next three pages are the first pages that the Main Rai appears on ever! Valiant's 1st Original Hero!!!! (Can you tell how excited i am to have these three pages???)

Wow! I think you have enough material to publish your own Pre-Unity art book.

Haha. Yeah, pretty close. I'm still floored that these had never been offered for sale before.

Wow what an amazing find. So lucky! A box that's says Valiant Pre Unity original art... I would have definitely done a double take. Fantastic haul, congrats!
