QFT! That's a pretty lofty goal, but if you wanna' do it, I'd fully support it :thumb: !

In fact, you should probably send that first seller a respectable BestOffer and see if he bites 8-) .

OR, you could buy the one that's already listed here:

I was actually typing you a message about picking up your Armorines #0 GOLD 9.8 and your Second Life of Doctor Mirage #1 GOLD 9.8, but then I saw SonicDan selling two original Lewis LaRosa covers (Bloodshot & HARD Corps #0 and Eternal Warrior #7) and just HAD to jump on it before they vanished.

Sadly, that $800 purchase just wiped out my justifiable comic funds. Looks like I won't be the A&A #0 GOLD hoarder anytime soon, lol!

True... but it's still cheaper than a round-trip plane ticket to a convention, a CGC 9.8 unsigned, and the re-submission to CGC after Bob signs it to get the yellow label. :hm:

Some of us can't get anything cheaper than ebay.

(And no, I'm not the buyer... or the seller.)

There is a seller who lists a 9.8 SS MRF #1 for $900 from time to time. Never seems to sell of course.

I drove around Bangkok the other day looking for comic shops. Closest thing I found was a manga shop filled with anime statues, Naruto books, and school girl costumes.

I asked "do you guys by chance have a copy of Magnus: Robot Fighter #1 CGC 9.8 with a yellow label and signed by artist Bob Layton?" the girl at the counter looked at me and said "no have... ...you need girlfriend?"

No, not really, but that's pretty much how it would have gone down. :P

Yeah, and that's by far the lowest price I've seen that book sell for in some time. Would've gladly snagged it for that price if I'd seen that comiclink auction before it ended.

Does this mean Solar 10 has passed Harbinger 1 in value in CGC 9.8?

At which price-point are you referring? The one that just sold compared with the average low-end that Harby #1's have been selling at the last several months? As far as I'm concerned, the value for a 9.8 Solar #10 has been higher than the equivalent Harby #1 for longer than just recently.

How many 9.8 Solar #10's have we seen sold in this same time-frame that so many 9.8 Harbinger #1's have sold in the $335 price-range? Only one other one that I'm aware of besides the one that just sold on ComicLink, and the one that'll end on FleaBay here in a couple of days. The other one I'm referring to was also a 'bay sale and IIRC, that was about three or four months ago and sold in the $450 price-range. That last one that sold prior to that (again, that I'm personally aware of) sold for right at four hundo. From the very few of them I've ever even seen sold, $400's been the average price-point on the book for at least a couple of years. To see a 9.8 copy of that book sell for less than $325's an absolute shock to me, especially considering we all know how exceptionally condition-sensitive that all black wrap-around cover is. A truly, truly tough pull; not to mention there's less than half as many 9.8 Solar #10's as there are 9.8 Harbinger #1's.

In a way it makes sense for Solar 10 to be pricier. Its the first appearance of Eternal Warrior but it was also a milestone issue in the history of Solar.

I am mainly interested in it because of the Eternal Warrior aspect, but my impression is that a lot of other buyers of this issue are more interested in its Solar aspects.

If I didn't already have one I would have been bidding on this book. That seems like a really good price for this book. Seems like the market is kinda soft right now for some of these slabs. If I had more disposable income right now I would be picking up a few extras of some of the keys.

eBay priceing is a funny thing, because:

1.) Many people would likley bid on, or outright buy an issue if the idea just popped into their mind, but as most people are home dealing with things they are likely not looking at the time or even aware.

2.) It's tax time. Today people might we cautious of a purchase, but once their tax returns show up, some people are willing to bid rediculous bids just to get what they want. They might want an issue for years, but not bid on any or make the effort until they reasonably can.

3.) How many times do we see an issue sell and think, "WTF! I would pay that price right NOW!" Well, this is quite common. I bet if you were to put a 9.8 copy of Solar #10 up for auction and then let MILLIONS of people know that it was up for auction, you would see crazy/*SQUEE* bidding wars comence.
