I disagree. I don't think it is chaotic at all. It's overwhelming, but in the way Disney World is overwhelming to a 3 year old - in a really good way.krylox wrote:wow, this is getting super event-heavy and chaotic all of a sudden. reboots & one-shots & minis... and then my fav title (bloodshot&hard corps) gets axed (resp replaced but with a new writer... not cool). i totally get where this is coming from, from a business point of view. unfortunately this looks like the stuff which totally turns me off with marvel/dc.
maybe it's the only way to go if you wanna be successful with a shared universe concept. the enthusiastic reactions in this thread are also indicating this is what superhero fans want and that i'm in the minority. however, this is not for me.
i will sample rai, which looks very promising and will hopefully be a world of it's own. other than that it might prove a good opportunity for me to get out of the "universe-buying" thing.

That's what I was thinking, if they're not going to continue his title at all. Maybe replacing X-O?BugsySig wrote:I also suspect Bloodshot may end up in Unity shortly.

I'm loving Crain's art but the jury is out on the design. Looks like he was bitten by a robotic spider.dornwolf wrote:I'd agree I think Bloodshot is being broken for Hardcorps and most likely both will be relaunched around Fall.
Also, Hwen can't get a break can he be always ends up being the dead guy. Kinda surprised Mirage riding end up gay or ateast more interracial.
And Rai. I like the design but I think they might get some flack for the sun beams on his chest. I remember awhile back in UFC that George St.pierre was going to have gear with the rising sun on it and someone wrote to him explaining that the rising sun was the equivalent to a swachtika to many cultures.
Spiderai, Spiderai…

Re: VALIANT Firsts Revealed! Holy *SQUEE*
Ok. My statement made have been an over reaction. I love Valiant and haven't been disappointed with a thing they have done except for Shadowman yet I am excited for Dr.Mirage. I did want a timewalker title hahah. Valiant prouduces gold 99% of the time I no matter what happens (Weather they cancel titles or not) I am with that. Plus i have no facts to back up my claim. For all I know Archer and Armstrong and Quantom and Woody could go back to there regular standard comic after the mini series (Which i believe is what it is).
I look forward to reading all of it. Though alot of people have said Harbinger and Bloodshot are one shots... Are they? Or are they going to be a mini series. They stated before that Armor hunters was a eighteen issue mini series event?

I think the whole 18 parts will be across the tie-ins, probably something like this:swtor1091 wrote:They stated before that Armor hunters was a eighteen issue mini series event?
X-O Manowar 25 (part 0)
Armor Hunters 1-4
Armor Hunters: Harbinger 1-4
Armor Hunters: Bloodshot 1-4
X-O Manowar 26-29
X-O Manowar 0

I'm cool with reboots if they happen, as long as it's not changing continuity or relaunching the universe.

I will go against the grain a bit and say this shake up makes me worried about VEI's longevity.
I know in their interviews they talk about quality and storytelling, but if you look at them from outside of a diehard valiant fan perspective the reality is they have consistently jumped from marketing gimmick to marketing gimmick. The have had quite a few snafu's WRT to quality (mainly on the art side of storytelling), and they have lost some quality creators. All of their titles have been on a pretty steady sales decline despite have a diehard core of fans that buy practically every title.
Hope i am wrong, but definitely not getting the warm and fuzzies with this new gimmick.

A steady sales decline is what you want. That's the standard for any successful book. And the aggressive marketing is simply because they're a young company and need it.SJS4 wrote:I will go against the grain a bit and say this shake up makes me worried about VEI's longevity.

THIS ALL SOUNDS COMPLETELY AMAZING! My eyes have been wide for the last hour from excitement and I think that I may be literally high on the news. Rai looks INCREDIBLE! And Doctor Mirage looks great, can't wait for some interviews about that.
As for the Bloodshot and HARDCorps and Shadowman ambiguity... I'm certain that we have nothing to worry about. They likely aren't talking about Shadowman because that would be spoilery for post-End Times. Which is wise. And for Bloodshot and HARDCorps, I think they'll part ways after Armor Hunters and we'll get a continued Bloodshot and a new HARDCorps series. Which would mean in October we will have:
XO Manowar
Harbinger
Bloodshot
Archer & Armstrong
Shadowman
Quantum &Woody
Unity
Eternal Warrior
Rai
The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage
HARDCorps.
Which is eleven books, all of which are leveraged out of events and should have bright futures. That's only one more than the ten they said that they would have during the Valiant First period. Alternately HARDCorps doesn't happen, meaning they stick to ten books, but I think it probably will. In which case that's an incredibly awesome line-up of books!

I agree about the 18 parts being tie-ins, but I believe you forgot that Unity is also tie-ing in starting in June, along with X-O Manowar. So, the list would be:mateo107 wrote:I think the whole 18 parts will be across the tie-ins, probably something like this:swtor1091 wrote:They stated before that Armor hunters was a eighteen issue mini series event?
X-O Manowar 25 (part 0)

X-O Manowar 26-29
X-O Manowar 0
X-O Manowar 25
Armor Hunters 1-4
Armor Hunters: Harbinger 1-3
Armor Hunters: Bloodshot 1-3
Unity 8-11
X-O Manowar 26-29
(either Unity or X-O drop an issue from their tie-in or they're not counting X-O 25)

That would be a good list of books.Even though its cool to have Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps together. It would be cooler just to split them up and spin off to each having a title.. but they could still crossover once in awhile.

If I just can't be me ,and the Arrow isn't enough.. then maybe I should be Ra's al Ghul

Trust me, as an American who has lived in Australia for the vast majority of his life, America is not looked on fondly by the rest of the world. I honestly think it's partially envy about the influence of the States, but still. America earns a lot of its critics.Blood of Heroes wrote:I think you might be a closeted Canadian.lorddunlow wrote:Actually, throw the American flag in there as it is hated by many countries.
EDIT: Not to say it doesn't have great positives, but I felt the international mood shift against America when Bush came into office. As a twelve year old people would angrily ask me "why I invaded the Middle East." To which I said that they're giving me too much credit.

I know, right? There's a bunch of natural corners for the universe too, making this a good list for crossover potential. Magic, immortals, psiots and the future are definitely the four corners of the Valiant Universe. (Not in that order, obviously.)comicsyte95 wrote:hunter_peterson wrote: XO Manowar
