If you gave Aric hugs and kisses, would it be XOXO X-O?

WW New Orleans Comic Con

Post by CBurke76 »

This is my 1st comic book convention I have ever attended. So far it's been a great experience. I actually met Bob Layton yesterday. He signed my (VH1 era) Magnus 0, 1 & Rai 1, X-O Manowar 1&2 plus my X-O Manowar hardcover. He even had a few tales of Valiant in the early days. It was cool he had original art (Iron Man covers) for sale but, I had already bought me CGC copy of Hulk 181! To bad there was no VEI representatives at this convention. Here I go for day 2.

Have fun! Take lots of pictures! I have several friends who are there. Maybe I'll make it next year.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

That's right. He's done Archer & Armstrong. Totally didn't realize that and thanks for pointing that out. I will go check him out tomorrow. Today I got to speak to Mark Texeira (Ghost Rider) he had a cover of original art of X-O Manowar that Valiant had rejected for some reason. It looked AWESOME to me I was like when this cover coming out. He didn't remember why it was not used. I hope he does get do a cover for X-O Manowar I would buy that variant for sure. Also there was a lady at the con selling original art from Valiant earlier days. There was probably like over 50 pages of Magnus Robot Fighter, Rai, Harbinger, X-O Manowar, and Secret Weapons. It was really cool to see.

I'd love to see that. I really don't like his painted stuff at all, but his ink work is tremendous.

Been a fan of Mark's work since the old He-Man MOTU mini-comicbooks he used to do for DC/Mattel (wasn't until years later after I collected all of his Ghost Rider stuff) that it hit me that he was the artist on those books too.

A little late now, but I hoped you were able to get a picture of his X-O, I can only imagine how cool that looked.
