I agree with you and would add Granite from HARD Corps as well.lorddunlow wrote:I think Livewire is quite possibly the most "real" character in VEI - if that means anything to anybody. Everyone else in VEI seems contrived (not poorly written, mind you - they just seem like characters created to tell whatever story they are in). Kay was pretty much the only other character that fits that description, but even she was a little stereotypical as a character.

Re: Unity #3 Discussion
I think she comes across more "real" because she's morally conflicted. Recognizing his potential to bring peace, order and progress to the world, she's a dedicated employee of Harada -- but not without limitations. When she feels he's overstepped a moral boundary, she acts on her own accord to thwart him.lorddunlow wrote:I think Livewire is quite possibly the most "real" character in VEI - if that means anything to anybody. I think they're making her into the "new" Solar of Valiant. That is, the most powerful, being in the Valiant Universe, but also one who isn't quite self assured of the power. Just a thought, and a more viable foe for a new resurrection/recreation of Dr. Eclipse?>hunter_peterson wrote:I think that Shanhara only cooperated with her because it realized she was a good person and wanted to reveal Harada's true face to her, with the power upgrade as a sort of reward. She's already hugely powerful without the armor now, especially given that she also seems to be capable of making super-technology too. She turned a basic video game into a psychologically scarring horror one with only her natural ability to modify machines. I think we may have our Reed Richards of the Valiant U now... but with Oracle-like surveillance penetration.bygranddesign wrote:Yep Harada is the NEW King ... that needs to be dethroned
definitely a cool twist![]()
But the thing that has me really intrigued and interested in ...is how will Aric eventually get back the armor?![]()
It seems to me like Livewire is much better fit to wear the armor
She is obviously a much more stable person aka not a power hungry meat head 5th century Visigoth .. and she is a PSIOT with power over machines and her powers are stronger while wearing the suit. She seems like a great fit for Shanhara and her powers make the suit a stronger weapon!
The explanations I can think of is that Shanhara will just end up choosing Aric for some reason (fulfill some legacy or just a greater connection between the two that is important)
Or Livewire will reject the armor as she doesn't want the responsibility of that much power
This, to me, is really interesting; if Shanhara was motivated in this way it is both sentient and knows about Harada. That supports it being future tech from the Faraway.
Also, this issue was kick-*SQUEE*! I would totally buy a Livewire solo series after this, if they could find a good hook for it. Can't wait for her to eventually meet Bloodshot!

I dunno. She can't self-heal in any respect, so unless someone does it for her (like Harada or a medical team) then she's stuffed. Not that powerful in the combat arena, ergo not "the most powerful being in the Valiant Universe".Aomalle27 wrote:I think they're making her into the "new" Solar of Valiant. Up until now. But with the upgrades, who knows what she's capable of. Plus, the armor might be infusing with her like it obviously has with Aric, ie see his armI dunno. To be fair, we haven't seen if Aric has any healing capabilities when he's not wearing the suit, but with whatever the suit did to his hand it's at least a possibility.Aomalle27 wrote:Up until now. The way I see it is "The most powerful being in the Valiant Universe" has to (at minimum) be able to stand toe-to-toe in the vast majority of respects to all of the other characters in the universe. I figured that seeing as Livewire has no apparent combat ability outside of manipulating technology then for instance, if she fought Aric in the middle of a desert then she'd have no chance. Again, with no currently apparent healing ability she wouldn't be able to fight another day like Bloodshot (for example).
Just musing over your thoughts really, in a typical 'X character vs Y character' way. I think there are some really cool situations in which she could put up more of a fight, but at least based on what we know about the character at current time I don't think she can compete with the likes of Aric, Harada or Bloodshot without wearing Shanhara.

Re: Unity #3 Discussion
Yeah, I agree. She's up there with the other big guns in terms of versatility and capability, but her power set is very much balanced against theirs. Valiant's done really well with that, actually. We don't really have any one character that's the toughest, a Superman. Everyone else has other characters that can counter them in the same tier. Which illustrates Valiant's exceptional planning, I think.Shadowman99 wrote:To be fair, we haven't seen if Aric has any healing capabilities when he's not wearing the suit, but with whatever the suit did to his hand it's at least a possibility.Aomalle27 wrote:Up until now. That said, if Archer can do any Harbinger power and anything humanity ever thought of, he's probably the most powerful Valiant character. Which is fascinating and bizarre, sort of.
EDIT: Thought of the perfect way to sum it up; there isn't a character match-up in the Valiant Universe that wouldn't be fun to see.
