==========================================
ONE OF THE RAREST OF THE RARES CAN BE YOURS!
Valiant has been kind enough to provide us one 'X-O Manowar #1 Make-Ready' for one lucky 'Valiant Fan' who has a creative streak in them.
Bruce and I have discussed for weeks on how best to use this and we have finally come up with an idea.
But, in typical fashion, we'd like to hear your thoughts before we release the details of how one creative 'Valiant Fan' can earn one to add to their collection.
==========================================
Introducing the X-O Manowar #1 Make-Ready.
These were the printed proofs used prior to the Summer of 2012 before X-O Manowar #1 went to press.
Historically important since they mark the very 1st regular book of Valiant's Relaunch, less than fifty proofs were ever produced.
Two separate packets make up one book which includes a total of five individual perforated 11 3/8 X 7 5/16 inches folded sheets.
Unfolded the four large uncut sheets measure approximately 45 1/2 x 14 3/5 inches. The fifth uncut sheet measure 22 3/4 x 14 3/5 inches.
Basically, its a UNIQUE Format (sort of like a connected map). There aren't a whole lot of these out there.
These Make-Readies have never been sold on the market.
Pictures are attached of this rarity:

-----------------------------------------------------
What do you think a Valiant Fan has to do to earn this unique item? In a few weeks Bruce and I will provide the details and then let the creativity flow. It should be fun. It is something which hasn't been done yet (to our knowledge) and we truly look forward to what comes from this promotion.
Yet ANOTHER way that "It just got even better to be a Valiant supporter!".
=========================================
Just to add a scan of how folded 11 3/8 X 7 5/16 sheet looks like.

I think one way could be for folks to create their own rendition of X-O Manowar #1, but not limited to just one artform. For example, someone could do a live-action "episode" of X-O Manowar, or maybe even an original song? Or the issue completely in the style of a 3-year old with nothing but crayons on paper?

I thought of that same idea before I read that post. I remember somebody back in the 90's getting a Gold book for that!Intrepidxc wrote:I wish I had a lawn big enough to mow the Valiant logo into, and be seen by Google earth!chriskay99 wrote:What if I mow a Valiant logo into my front lawn?

I think it should go to someone who has helped motivate us others to post reviews on Amazon.

Am I even allowed to win? I fear that winning another big contest could really *squee* someone off, lol. Then again all's fair right

Re: ONE OF THE RAREST OF THE RARES CAN BE YOURS!
We want to encourage Valiant Fans to come up with a new idea to promote Valiant.
Everyone is more than welcome to share their ideas.
To reenact X-O Manowar sounds cool. Perhaps a Youtube Video.

Re: ONE OF THE RAREST OF THE RARES CAN BE YOURS!
If we want to promote Valiant, we have to promote it to people who actually buy and read comics. There is no point in any undertaking that doesn't involve increased sales. So where do you find comic book buyers? In comic shops.
Some time ago I suggested that Valiant employ comic book displays to set apart their wares from everything else on the shelf with something like this. Here's a link to one designed for comics. (it's different than the pic below)

What if we were to procure a number of these, adorn them with Valiant artwork, logos, etc and make them available to our local comic shops? Place them as an endcap or dedicated aisle display or something.
We could do it individually -- or band together, get a batch professionally printed/decorated and then distribute them among the participants. We'd have to find a source where we could get just a dozen or so; you'll note that link has an order quantity of 500.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
