Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, small press? In the last catagory, I'm just lumping all companies and publishers other than the "Big 4" together as "independent" companies to simplify things.

I choose Marvel because that is the company that I have the most comics from as of now. But DC is closing the gap in the old collection with many well written titles that they have been producing in the last couple of years.

No it wasn't me that did that!!

Marvel has all the cool catch phrases  .

You know, DC needs a semi-derogatory nickname for their fans too :P .

How "DC Dorks"?

I had to choose Marvel, although I classify myself as an X-Men fan more than just a Marvel fan...

DC by far. They are money suckers...but not NEARLY in the same league as Marvel. Can you say start all our icon books back at issue 1 so we can have some bandwagon #1 chasers buy them? :!:

DC hands down for me. I guess it just depends on which comics you picked up first. It's all the fault of Tim Burton's Batman movie:) . Batman was "gateway drug" into DC. But I haven't collected that much of any company's comics since 97 or so. They got me out of the habit of buying their titles when they screwed them all up during the boom.

You got into comics because of Batman? Cool, so did I.

I don't remember having ANY comics before then, except Rom #47. Thass it.

I was an avid CrossGen supporter/buyer before it collapsed. Nowadays, I mostly buy titles from Oni Press, with occasional forays into Marvel, Wildstorm, Dark Horse, ComicOne and Tokyopop titles. I also buy lots of "quarter bin" comics from companies that were defunct before I started collecting comics - Valiant (naturally), Defiant, Milestone and Eclipse.
