Nice, since Armor Hunters will be out in June, we can expect Rai around July/August.

Quite possibly, also depends on what else may come next year.

2013 launches were July, September, November, with the mini series running from April.

2012 launches were May, June, July, August and November.

So July/August seems a good bet for one book, and speculating that November could be another launch window in 2014?

EDIT: thinking about it a little more, with the #0's in February and March, would it be reasonable to expect Armor Hunters April to July, with new ongoing 1 in Augusta to sustain at least 9 books per month from February, 10 from August, and maybe another new launch in November for 11 books per month?
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

I don't get the takeaway here. Dino is excited about a creative team for Rai? I kind of expect that he would be.

I think that the takeaway here is that if you like Warren Ellis you will love the creative team, well that's what I got from it anyway...Or it might just be the fact that there is already a team apointed on the Rai book.

Basically just announced a Rai book. That's fairly big news.

What he said. I know we all pretty much figured Rai was a cinch with the tease in Unity #1, but this is the first confirmation that it is a Rai book (and not just an appearance). I may have missed it, but I don't remember any official announcement of a Rai ongoing. I'm pretty sure it will be Matt Kindt.

If Rai is going to be another ongoing with Kindt at the helm, I'm definitely on board. I can't help feeling like Kindt already has a lot on his plate.

I found it interesting that we got the teaser in Unity #1

But in no other book since

So I was starting to get the worrying feeling we were not going to hear anything for a loooong while

So it's nice to get this confirmation that an announcement will be coming fairly soon (early next year)..

Yeah I agree - he seems to be taking on a lot

but he did tease that he was writing a new series for Valiant ..so evidently he still has a little room left on his plate :)

To me, the ad in Unity #1 seemed official enough. I couldn't imagine running that ad and not having a title in the pipeline. But okay, I guess hearing it from Dino kinda makes it more real.

Yeah, but there was a good chance that it was just going to be an appearance in Eternal Warrior and not his own book like when Eternal Warrior was teased for Winter 2012 in the very first Valiant Free Comic Book Day issue. It ended up being his first appearance in Archer and Armstrong and not his own book. Interestingly enough, in that same FCBD issue, Rai was teased for Spring 2013.
