Re: What comics are you reading now?
From DC, I'm reading all three Justice League titles, Aquaman, Batman, Nightwing, Batman and Robin, Talon, Demon Knights, Teen Titans, Constantine, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and Earth 2. I was reading I, Vampire and Frankenstein: Agent of Shade, until they cancelled both titles. After the news reached me that Demon Knights will be cancelled, as well as the whole fiasco with DC and their handling of their writers, I'm on the fence about whether I should continue collecting their books every month. I'm seriously considering limiting my monthly comic book purchases to Valiant only. The only sucky part about that is that one of my favorite writers, Robert Venditti, will be writing Green Lantern next month.

I've also been reading Green Arrow since Jeff Lemire began his run on it.

I'm sorry but I will never be able to relate to giant, transforming robots. Every time I try to transform, I end up in the emergency room.Cyberstrike wrote:Almost through the recent Transformers: Spotlight series as and they're pretty interesting reads Megatron and Thundercracker are the best IMHO and Trailcutter and Hoist are pretty damn good. If you want smart, funny, and thought provoking and if you think that the Transformers are unrelatable you should check out these books as well as More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In Disguise and see how relatable these characters really are.

just finished up GL vol 3. man am I glad to be through the Ron Marz era. Saying Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver brought new life to that book is an understatement.

Okay, I'm caught up on Chew. Love that book. Gotta get me a chog figurine.
Read first issue of Animal Man. Pretty good example of a good book before decompression made us pay more for the same amount of story. Seriously, I got to page 11 of issue one of Animal Man, I was surprised to discover I wasn't even halfway through. Modern comics are just spread over more issues. It's a ripoff. Even with good books like Chew.

Try not to think of them as robots but as human like characters.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Read Revival #10. Still loving it, although this issue was a little uneventful - damn decompression. At least this book uses the slow pace for character development.
For some reason yesterday, I started back up on TWD. Read from 55ish to 59. Can't figure out why I'm still reading it. It's such a bummer. I took an extended hiatus after Lori and the baby were murdered as I was very traumatized by that. I'm thinking I will do the same after learningthe Morgan was killing people to feed to zombie Duane - seriously, those two doing okay with the Gameboy scene was what kept me from halting my reading earlier in the run
It's really well written and quite engrossing, but in the way that I watched hours and hours of news footage and commentary about the 9/11 attacks for months afterwards. Kirkman is a sick *SQUEE*.

I have similar feelings, I fall in and out of love with the series. It is excellently written, but it does go around in circles and contain some pretty dark stuff - and not even in the gore/zombie way, more emotionally.
Re: What comics are you reading now?
Probably not a comprehensive list, I am behind on many of them (most of them except the Batman ones and of course Valiant), but here goes:
Valiant:
Everything they produce.
DC up to date:
Batman
Detective Comics
All-Star Western
Batman Incorporated
Batman Beyond
Swamp Thing
Animal Man
DC touch-and-go (I buy individual issues/arcs if they look good):
Batman & Robin (I have been sort of skipping this one actually because the new arc is not good and actually I only liked the first arc of the New 52, which I actually thought was the best arc of all the first New 52 Batman-verse arcs)
Batwoman
Catwoman
The Flash
Wonder Woman
Marvel:
Deadpool
Hawkeye (aka Hawkguy)
Dynamite:
Garth Ennis' The Shadow
The Shadow: Year One
Mark Waid's Green Hornet
The Spider (this one is actually somewhat touch and go)
Masks
Image:
Saga
East of West
Jupiter's Legacy
IDW:
Locke and Key
I just finally got into Locke and Key because Comixology had volume 1 for only 3 bucks Memorial Day weekend.
