New VALIANT series by Matt Kindt
From Matt Kindt's official twitter:

He later elaborates:“@mattkindt: Finished writing the 1st PANEL of a new series and that panel description was a page long. Guess I'll rein it in a little. @ValiantComics”
Sounds awfully Rai-like to me“@mattkindt: @GregWoronchak @ValiantComics I am…the description is just about the world that the panel takes place in, not even what's pictured!”

I noticed this as well. Looks like VEI is gearing up for at least two new series (the other being the VDitty tease via Twitter from a few weeks ago). Rai is likely one of these - I wonder what the other will be?

I was wondering if "Armor Hunters" may be a Harbinger Wars-esque crossover series that VDitti is writing...or if it's an ongoing, that would still make sense.lorddunlow wrote:I noticed this as well. Definitely nice to see VEI is still getting their scripts in well in advance since any new series likely wouldn't launch until at least April 2014.

I am surprised to say this, but I would like to see a Ninjak series along side my top desire for a RAI book. Ninjak has been a great character in the new Valiant U so far. I wonder if he will remain a part of Unity for long, though [beyond the second story arc] - that will likely affect his chances of getting his own series, despite the fact we saw a tease for it a few months back.

Re: New VALIANT series by Matt Kindt
It's a given that a RAI series is happening. He's essentially been teased almost from the start but that full page interior back ad in UNITY #1 confirms it for sure.
Then Eternal Warrior's next arc #5++, is taking place in 4001 AD.
We have the release this week of RAI MASTERS HC edition
Then this series of tweets.
Not sure what to make of that Armor Hunters IP registering. We all know that Armorines is already affiliated with VEI so how would this concept be vastly different?
RAI is the front runner for now.

There have been a couple of teaser tweets from Valiant re: Armor Hunters, personally I wouldn't mind seeing something new from them be it as a mini or as part of a cross-over event (given how good Harbinger Wars was, my expectations are pretty high).
Rai seems the logical choice though...

I bet you're right. If I had my say though, I'd like to see a Timewalker book before anything else.
Here's a character design David Aja made in 2011:

Not one they go with I hope; looks a bit derivative IMHO of a few late 80's to early 2000's characters.conspiracycamel wrote:I bet you're right. If I had my say though, I'd like to see a Timewalker book before anything else.

Re: New VALIANT series by Matt Kindt
I'd rather see Rai or Ninjak (or even something new like Armor Hunters) before a Timewalker series. The original one was okay, but if the main character is jumping around in time everywhere, it's more difficult to have a meta plot spanning multiple arcs of the series unless the main baddie can time jump and follow him around too. Or if they have some way of controlling when/where he pops out of a time arc. I don't know. I have faith that whatever VEI does it'll be at least good, but Timewalker isn't high on my list. That's just me though. Secret confession: I'd rather see a new Psi-Lords series to go along with Rai and help anchor the 4001 timeline with another title!

Have you read Archer & Armstrong #15?Phoenix8008 wrote:I'd rather see Rai or Ninjak (or even something new like Armor Hunters) before a Timewalker series. The original one was okay, but if the main character is jumping around in time everywhere, it's more difficult to have a meta plot spanning multiple arcs of the series unless the main baddie can time jump and follow him around too. When Ivar meets Archer to relinquish Armstrong and says, "... besides, the sentient cities will know I've escaped the continua. They will send prometheans in pursuit. And there is someone very special to me I must protect."
That's enough to get me excited for the potential of this character.
With the right writer, I think a Timewalker series would be a very cool addition to the Valiant lineup.

Re: New VALIANT series by Matt Kindt
Exactly, they are laying the ground work. Just have to be paying attention. Often they are seemingly one off lines of dialogue like this. What is a Promethean? Human, Machine, Psiot, Alien...Other, what are the limits of their power? The Sentient Cities, are they like a Parliament of Trees? Do they have avatars? What can, if anything happen in the Continua? Who is the special someone?conspiracycamel wrote:Have you read Archer & Armstrong #15?Phoenix8008 wrote:I'd rather see Rai or Ninjak (or even something new like Armor Hunters) before a Timewalker series. The original one was okay, but if the main character is jumping around in time everywhere, it's more difficult to have a meta plot spanning multiple arcs of the series unless the main baddie can time jump and follow him around too. All that and I'm just scratching the surface of possible stories for like 2yrs minimal without anything new being added within those story arcs. That's good writing.
That said, as much as I'm pro an Ivar, Timewalker series it's clear RAI is inevitable and that whatever a 10th book is may be something conceptually new such as this Armor Hunters.
Also, I agree that I'd go with at the minimum the Psi-Lords as players along the lines of HARD Corps in a RAI title. I like them despite that 90's VU was on the downside then, now is the time to freshen up that concept.

Doctor Who has managed arcs and stories within over-arching arcs well enough.Phoenix8008 wrote:I'd rather see Rai or Ninjak (or even something new like Armor Hunters) before a Timewalker series. The original one was okay, but if the main character is jumping around in time everywhere, it's more difficult to have a meta plot spanning multiple arcs of the series unless the main baddie can time jump and follow him around too. I wonder if Valiant will mix things up again like they did with Unity and create a new ongoing simply called 4001 which is obviously a multi character driven story set in the future timeline that also links to the Rai and EW books...

I think that could be good a bit further down the line once the future timeline's been established adequately.Bl00dsh0t wrote:I wonder if Valiant will mix things up again like they did with Unity and create a new ongoing simply called 4001 which is obviously a multi character driven story set in the future timeline that also links to the Rai and EW books...
By the way, what was Psi-Lords? I've heard it mentioned loads, but I've never been able to really work out what it was from what people have/haven't said about it.

Yes. In my opinion it was very poorly done. It could be interesting like any number of B character books Valiant has if done right.
