Got the issue today - the 13X insert was a nice treat.

Also worth noting, there is a 'Top 100 Power List' of people in the comics industry with power &/or influence, nice to see Dino made it at #41, and Matt Kindt also snuck in there at #95.

I got mine today (I preorder Bleeding Cool magazine every issue). If anyone is still having trouble getting one, if you want to pay for shipping, you can have my Shadowman 13X (it takes place before issue 13). Please send me a PM.

I got my copy at my LCS today too :) I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it is a nice treat that hearkens back to the Wizard days :)

Plus, it was so weird to pick up Maxx #1 again...LOL

As someone who prefers digital, I wonder if this will find its way to Comixology at some point?

My LCS didn't get it .... Even though I added it to my pull day it was announced. I was so excited to think I was getting a valiant comic on an off week. :!:

Definitely going to try to get to my LCS tonight. Probably not going to make it though.

Randomly stopped at my LCS since we got off of work early and I wanted to see if they had any Black Friday deals and was surprised to see this in my pull file. Picked up two copies - one to open, one to keep sealed - oh, the '90s memories come flooding back. They have about 5-6 additional copies they ordered. Is this something a lot of people are missing out on? If so, I'll stop back in this weekend and get the rest to send out to board members.

The 13X issue itself was decent. Does a nice job of recapping the Shadowman story thus far while setting up the next arc. Perfect thing a freebie comic should do to introduce new readers and give a little something to the regular readers.

As for the magazine itself, reminded me of Wizard in some aspects. Felt rather light on content, though, and the design/look of it feels pretty average. Looks like something a college graphic design student could have done.
Black Science. Lazarus. Birthright. Saga. Manifest Destiny. Deadly Class.

I felt the same way when I got mine

Since I only ordered one copy (& didn't see any more on the shelf), no polybag bankroll for me :)

Agreed - mostly a brief recap of the series, but adding a new element & a hint of where the storyline is going. Good artwork, though not a very grim style - I was expecting to see Robert De La Torre do this prologue/recap.

Agreed again, although I think they are keeping it simple on purpose. They probably already offer the same content online, and don't want to invest too much into a mag that's only selling for $1.99. I think of it as a sort of extended newspaper edition for comics.

Oh man! I just called my LCS to see if they have the comic and they're moving shop so they can't really handle any questions like that today! The suspense is killing ME!

I am going to *SQUEE* my pants if they've not got it or it's not in my pullbox though.

Can't wait to pick that up along with Unity#1 on Saturday! :D

Hadn't heard anything about that; where'd you get that info, Chris?

Anything different about the mag itself, other than the cover?

Now, if it were a different SM 13x cover, that'd be something :hm: ...

I received mine via mail order yesterday. I haven't read shadowman 13x yet, mainly because I haven't read shadowman 12 yet. The cover art is pretty good.

Picked mine up today with a month's worth of comics. I had asked for 3, but my LCS made a mistake (these things happen, so that is okay). I have a nice small stack of VEI stuff to read, including 13X which should be an indicator of the new direction. :thumb:
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Copy that, Chris. Would've been nice if the seller would've included a pic of the 1:10 cover, though.

Regardless, apparently he ordered a butt-load of copies, as he's relisted the "set":

I picked up my copy at the LCS on Saturday, and there was still a single copy sitting on the shelves...

So either lots of people pick the magazine up anyway, or it's been an especially popular issue: Let's just hope that lots of non-Valiant readers have been picking it up and will be impressed by it! :D

Still haven't seen a peep or pic on the 1:10 variant cover. Can't find anything on it. I don't think it matters though. Shadowman 13x is a separate comic that comes bagged with BC #7, so I think the variant must be for the BC magazine and not 13x. That's my guess
