Status?

Post by Bone-A-Fach-ee »

Sorry if this is a repeat topic, but does anyone know the status of those Dark Horse/Gold Key characters? Is there a chance of Solar, Magnus and Turok coming back to Valiant? Or is that 100% impossible? Does anyone have any info on that front? I was a big Solar fan back in the day.

At the ECCC panel, the VALIANT guys said the rights are still at Dark Horse.

Meanwhile, Turok is owned outright by DreamWorks and Solar and Magnus are property of Random House licensed to DreamWorks after their deal for Classic Media.

Does that mean that we're going to see movies of all three characters?

No one knows what they have planned. They were all just part of the Classic Media deal along with some more well known IPs and licenses.

I would tove to see a Turok movie, assuming they don't ruin him the way they ruined my beloved John Carter.

Yeah. It was more of a generic "they" directed at Hollywood in general.

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.

In addition, I'm right.

The Turok animated film is pretty good. I think my copy is on loan to my nephew.

Last month Sony registered for about 15 different websites that were all some variation of turokthe movie.com. So who knows? But it's not beyond Hollywood or big business to buy up the name just to block somebody else from owning it or using it.
